  • Okay I messed up, but I came here to fix it.

I've been cheating like crazy after my 14 days of clean induction. The reason, I'm so emotional, my feelings got hurt and I cheated, that's too after I added in sugar free candy as a food staple and diet cokes as the drink of champions or something. Please help me, I want to start and I will start tomorrow (monday) morning. Wish me luck and any and all advice is welcomed.

Advice: Stay focused. Expect sugar / carb cravings for the next 5 days or so. Stay as positive as you can and remain kind to yourself no matter what.

Encouragement: You know you can do this!!! You did a 14-day clean induction, and I'm sure you were feeling absolutely fantastic once all your cravings left you. Remember that! Know that you have a unique and wonderful source of support that's accessible 24-7 . Check in and have a look at the inspiring pics or read up on some success stories to get through your next craving.

Take care and good luck to you!

Your feelings got hurt and you cheated.. Guess what?? Congratulations you've just succeeded in proving your human.

      • The difference is this time you've fessed up & your accountable.
Ask yourself this question for me:
How many times before today have i gone on a sweets binge? (we've all been there before)

      Now ask yourself:
How many times before today did i actually, think about what i have done ?
If your like me then my guess is very few.

So in fact you've already come along way.
Now live by the power of the minute.

      Prepare for tomorrow today.
      • Get up, go & get a drink of water
      • Move the sugary stuff out of sight (or dump it) and
      • prepare some low carb snacks and arm yourself for a new day
Its normal to sabotage yourself but this time your doing it right.

The main thing we have the ability to control in life is, the way situations affect us and how we react to them.

Re: Okay I messed up, but I came here to fix it.

Let me lend some advice from a past cheater. It's not worth it. It slows your weight loss and sucks away your energy! What works best for me?

          1. Constant water!!!
          2. 4-6 small meals instead of 3 big ones. It will rev up you metabolism and keep your tummy satisfied.
          3. Choose to do something distracting when you are tempted to eat junk!
          4. Most of all, I say to myself millions of times a day: "Nothing tastes as good as healthy looks and feels!" I even have it posted on my fridge.

Good luck! Oh, and please consider rewarding yourself with something you love (not food related) when you succeed.

Re: Okay I messed up, but I came here to fix it.

so you had a great 14 days and then jumped ship? for how long?

we never repeat 14 day induction unless we are off plan for a long period of time. you need to just get back to ketosis 3-4 days and then decide if you can handle extended indutions sounds like you can't or move to OWL. then do it. Make yourself a sheet of why you want to lose the weight and get healthier. keep your high weight pic with it and read it every time you even think about going off plan for even one bite. Ask yourself if you want to allow that high weight person back inside and in controll of you. if the answer is NO then take action not to cheat exercise when you are said or emotional as it uses up the emotional hormones in a good for you manner. come post, call a support buddy write yourself a letter all about why you love yourself too much to commit the cheating things you are thinking about.

Since you know the candy and soda tripped you up don't buy them or even accept them as gifts and should some one push some on you destroy it so you can't weaken from them calling your name repeatedly like a little kid hollering Mommy mommy mommy. One of the best times I had in was smashing a box of cream puffs my loacl store was giving away as a present to all customers to celebrate 75 yrs here. I told that bag boy I didn't want any but he put it in the bag anyway while I saw watching the cashier and when i got home they were calling my name loudly, even louder then in the store where free samples were being handed out and consumed on every aisle. I knew I couldn't resist so I took them out and pulverized them one by one and them put their dead bodies in the garbage disposal so I couldn't dumpter dive for them should I falter. I let off a lot of steam killing those cream puffs in an Atkins acceptable manner and didn't cheat. Somebody else posted about running over a cake friends forced on her to take home. you can do it too.

Clean out your house of high carb foods if you can't then place them where you can't see them nor hear them put them in a new place so you don't "know" the high carb foods are in _______ cabinet. this will help your conditioned mind to not find any should it make you forage in the kitchen for some.

            Happy low carbing.

Re: Okay I messed up, but I came here to fix it.

May I also give a piece of advice? Forgive yourself. Have a plan for next time something happens to throw you into a tailspin. Most importantly is to just pick up and keep going. I cheated a few days ago, and the only reason I was able to keep going is because I realized that by letting myself get into a full fledged binge I would be negating all of the positives that I had accomplished.

For you, 14 days clean is impressive, so is the 15lb loss that you have lost. Be proud of what you have accomplished and remember that any time you start to beat yourself up.
