Hi everyone! I have been on the Atkins diet three times and have never made it past my 2 week induction. I know that sounds lame. This time around I find that it is easier. On Monday, I felt weak and had a headache. On Tuesday, I a headache and felt very weak and light headed. Normally I drink a Coke in the morning and have a cinnamon bun or something sweet for breakfast. I have such a sweet tooth. I used to drink Coke all day long and I ate fast food all the time since I don't ever feel like cooking. I went to my grandparent's house to eat and didn't cheat. Then later last night I was so tired I went right to sleep. Then today (Wednesday) I woke up feeling sick to my stomach and very weak. I ate some quiche, but I will admit I hate eggs and today they really made me sick. I felt so tired and light headed today until this afternoon. I just was not myself. I finally got rid of the headache and the dizziness and I started getting more energy. It's a good thing because today was staff appreciation day and they had all these yummy desserts at work (my favorite kinds too) and I didn't touch anything (although I am still thinking about them). And then they gave us a goody bag with candybars, cookies, crackers, granola bars and all my favorite carbolicious snacks but I didn't touch them, not even the Snickers which I love. I have made it three days and I haven't even attempted to cheat even though I have had so many opportunities. Some things I learned from previous attempts are to keep snacks with you so if you go hungry you aren't tempted to eat something full of carbs. I also am stronger because I am tired of being fat and I know I need to lose this weight. If I don't, it will get even more out of control. I just have to keep my eye on my goal. I also vowed to not get on the scales. I am just going to look at my size and when I am happy with the way I look that will be fine. I don't care what the scales say.

Well done yuly333
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Re: My third time on Atkins Induction
Thanks for the replies and encouragement. I have been through a lot of stress but I am still on the Atkins diet and I haven't cheated. I have been around a lot of junk food at work and all I can think about is eating it but I have resisted. My waist is getting smaller I can tell. Last night I had a food dream. In it, someone gave me some sugary cake and I ate it. Then I realized it had all that sugar in it and I was mad. I couldn't believe I had eated it. But in the dream while I was eating it, I did enjoy it. Too bad it wasn't chocolate or chocolate and peanut butter. I love chocolate. All I've been thinking about is Reese's Pieces. I know that sounds strange. That's the first food dream I have had during this induction. I knew it was bound to happen. I also have been on a clean induction which I think is helping. The other two times I was on induction, I would either drink protein shakes (without sugar but probably with sugar alcohols and aspartame or some other sugar substitute) or I would prepare sugarfree pudding and mix it with cream cheese. OMG, I would stop and eat a spoonful everytime I would walk past the refrigerator. I haven't even tried to eat anything sweet. I thinking it is helping to cut down on the sweet urges. I still get them, but then I have to forget about them. I do have to eat sugar free breath mints though. That is a must so I won't have bad breath. Now I just have to survive through Mother's Day. Wish me luck! It's going to be tempting to cheat! My parents tell me "Oh, you can give in just one day!" I told them "No I can't!" My dad thinks it is hilarious I am on the Atkins diet. He laughs everytime I mention it. I don't care how funny it is. I want to be thin, especially for summer so I won't be embarrassed to wear a swim suit at the beach. I am tired of having rolls of fat. I want to wear tighter more form fitting clothes. Do you all know how hard it is to find loose clothes? Everything is so tight which is not attractive on me because you can see every roll of fat. Ugh! Well, that's it for now. I'll post more later.

Good for you for resisting temptation! Before you know it, your dad will see the difference in your look and your health and will stop laughing.
