  • really feeling down and out...

i gotta get back on this woe. i feel terrible about my body. i know my health is bad too. it's bad when you can't walk without breathing hard. it's hard to bend over and tie my shoes. i have a scale but i'm really not looking forward to seeing how bad i've messed up my body, so i won't touch it... at least not until my starting date... but i estimate that i'm around 250lbs and i'm 5' 11". i need my goal is 180lbs. i may start this on monday. i don't know...

There is nothing between you and a clean start but air and opportunity, my friend. I look back from time to time and am so grateful that I am not still waiting on my first day to come. It was hard to take the first step and some days, frankly, it is a challenge to keep taking them. However, they are your steps to take and won't you be glad when you are far ahead of here and looking back with appreciation on the moment you finally did it?

ADBB will be here to support and help you! Check in often and use the power of this place to get you through. Once you start to see results, your momentum will guide you through so much of it. We'll be here cheering you on and demanding pictures!

Re: really feeling down and out...

We all hear the "I'll start tomorrow" or "On Monday I'll start" or how 'bout, "When I get back from vacation", then there's, "After I get over this cold." But, there''s no time like the present!

Take control, because it's YOUR life!

Controlling YOUR life. Wouldn't that be nice for a change? I mean, really, we wouldn't want anyone to take charge of us, would we? But somehow, we let food do it.

One way that's helped me is to simply look at the time issue. If you don't start now, you could lose a lot of time that could be spent happier and healthier.

Jump back in, the water's fine!

Dan I think you'll get the motivation soon to stay on plan. I remember I was in the same state of mind you are in and that just forced me to change things and start this WOE. The results were great and that keeps me motivated. Hang in there and we are all here to support you!

well, as much as l'd like to... i can't start today... i'm stationed in germany and sadly, my base is a german base with a small US unit... i'm about an hour away from the closest USAF base that has the grocery store... i have to wait till i can get there to get food.

                      Cobra Dan

I remember you from the last time I did Atkins. I do remember that you were doing very well like myself. I managed to get off Atkins and rejoin. I've gained back alot of weight and felt like you did. Out of breath and just plain horrible. I feel much better since i've started back.

I commend you for making the commitment to get back to this WOL.

                      You can do it!

Re: really feeling down and out...

Yeah, the out-of-breath thing. I want to think it's asthma, but I know it miraculously went away when I was skinny. Must be layers of fat surrounding my lungs cuz I'm always out of breath.

You can do it Dan!! Ditto the "thank-you" for serving our nation, esp on this Memorial Day weekend! I do understand the need for a start date, especially when you need to collect "supplies". Don't forget the supplements and some fiber. You can start that and the water increase right now. One thing I did keep up when I was off the plan is the water.

You SHOULD feel down and out. You did what a lot of us did, you got off the plan and got fat again. I feel so much better now that I'm losing, although it took some time to realize that it's gonna be slower loss than before. I still have a beach ball belly and my rings are tight, but I know there is light at the end of the tunnel!! And I feel so much more alive and alert than when I was drowning my sorrows in carbs.

Good luck in getting the weight off for GOOD this time!
