  • Was Afraid, Didn't Want To, Did!

I've been discouraged this time around with the progress in weight loss. It's been almost a month and I'm only down 10 pounds, compared to the 10+ pounds I lost in Induction the first time around.

I kept reading about if the scale doesn't show it, the tape measure will. I guess I was in denial, and didn't want to face what the tape measure said about my measurements. Well, 21 days ago I took my measurements. I just remeasured today, and I can't believe it!

    Lost 2.91% body fat.
    Lost 13.81 lbs fat mass.
Went down 1.61 on the BMI.
Lost 13 inches in my measurements!

I've only been exercising for a week. I wish I'd been doing it earlier.

    I sure feel better now!
    June Goals
    1. Continue with water
    2. Use bike more (3x per week would be nice).
    3. Continue with videos.
    4. Go to the YMCA for water classes.
    5. Build stamina for more walking.

    Goals for May:
    1. Water every day - at least 100 oz.
    2. Walk through Wal Mart instead of ride.
    3. Post every day.
    4. Get the exercise bike out of basement and use it!
    5. Re-read DANDR! It's been too long.

proof the the scale is a *&*&&*&*& liar...you must have confidence in how you feel and what the tape measure says..

    Keep it up

Thanks for posting that - I keep meaning to use the tape measure, but never get around to it. I did notice my pants are baggy, though.

Congrats on your inches lost!!! The scale is evil. Keep up the good work!!!!!

Okay calm down 0 pounds a month for 12 months is 120 pounds I would venture to say even 60 would be great. You are doing great and are probably not as heavy or unhealthy as you were the first time around!

        10 pounds

Thanks for the encouragement. I hope I'm not as heavy or unhealthy as I was the first time. I have been able to do exercise videos 3-4 times a week, and I really didn't think that would happen.

You're right about 120 pounds in a year. Even 60 would be great. That would put me where I was when I went to Europe in 1983. I could really do stuff then. Another 40 after that, and I'd be at my weight the day I was married in 1984.

My long-term goal: be able to wear my wedding dress for our 25th anniversary in June, 2009.
