    I went yesterday to my not-quite-regular Dr. who has a walk-in clinic, since I needed some meds refilled in a hurry (whole nother story, my real Dr. has cancer). He looked at me and asked, "have you been exercising and losing weight?"

    In the back of my mind I was thinking "what does that have to do with each other, and how on earth did he know?" Maybe he's one of those Drs that actually keep up with their patients, cuz last time I was there was in March and I was buying a Gazelle since I thought it wouldn't hurt my knee.

    I told him I only was able to do 15 min a day, and not every day, but I was sticking to low-carb better these days, and was losing slowly. He looked at my chart and then said, Wow, 9 lbs since I saw you last -- it's working!" Now that I think of it, I HAVE been losing a little faster, one whoosh every month or so, since I started regular exercise!! "Well," I said, "Exercise IS part of the Atkins plan, maybe it DOES play a big part."

    When I started on this WOE I was even more handicapped and could not exercise at all besides physical therapy. I lost rapidly and steadily at first, and have been really dissappointed that's not happening. Now I feel like I CAN really reach my goal, and not 2 lbs a month like my stupid siggy.

    I had a little toe surgery this week, but as soon as that heals, I'm stepping up to 20 min and BEYOND!

      For me, exercise is tough to stick with. I feel great when I am getting regular activity, however, in the past, I didnt seem to get results from it. But regardless, I feel at my best when I am active. So I as of June 1, I am back on the plan which includes regular exercise - no excuses.

        WOO HOO SHE IS A SHRINKING!!!!!

        good for your not regular doc noticing the healthier smaller patient you have become.

        Glad you are fit to exercise again.

          I found Friday I can still do the Gazelle with my shoes off. Stupid toe surgery looks botched, though. Infected and bruised at the base of the toe and its neighbor toe. GRRRRR

              How nice to have him notic and comment so favourably. A pat on the back for all your hard work, doesn't it feel nice. Good luck with the toe.

                Thanks, all!

                The toe has finally stopped oozing (after 9 days) so I hope it's on the mend. I have a followup appt on Friday, but with getting ready for travelling I'm kind of thinking I'm gonna blow it off.

                I feel skinnier, too, and that's a big boost!

                  I understand where youre coming from with having a callenge with disabilities! Though I fully function, I do have very limited mobility in my legs with my leg being 3 inches shorter on one side, and a back that just keeps reminding me that we have problems! LOL! Right now I am excersising like every other day. I need that middle day to recoop! LOL! Laughable maybe, yet true! I am so happy for you though that you got a dr to say you look great! That had to feel like a million bucks!
