  • Re-starting Atkins Today!

I began Atkins in September of 2004 and between that date and August of 2005 I went from 270 pounds down to an amazing 195 pounds. I then had a hysterectomy and it is as if my whole body changed and the weight just stopped coming off which led to discouragement and eventually to abandoning this way of eating completely. I am now ready to commit once again to this way of eating. I know the weight will move slower than before, but can anyone that has re-started after having a hysterectomy offer any advice? All comments will be greatly appreciated. Also I would love to have a buddy to work with.

    Happy lo-carbing to all!

    Ashlie

    Hey Ashlie!

    Good to see you again,

You really did a good job when you lost all that weight, I'm sure you can do it again.

      Hi Ashlie~

I restarted June 1st so today is day 5 for me. I also had my ovaries removed June of last year so we certainly have sudden menopause in common (if your ovaries were removed). At day 5 I can’t really tell you how this time will be different because of that . . . except that I do feel different . . . stronger and more determined.

I do want to say that I feel very good today . . . I feel happy and hopeful and full . . . a little tired still but clear headed. I’m telling you this because induction flu this time was especially severe and early and it almost got me. Even though I was expecting some withdrawal it still caught me off guard. I can barely believe that 2 days ago I had a severe headache and was shaking and throwing up. I wonder how many carbs are in Advil because that saved me.

      Hang in there.

        Hey Ashlie!!

        Good to see you, girl
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
