      Hey Dan

Don't get discouraged, even if you can't feel it some days, or can't SEE the changes happening yet, or it's not happening fast enough. Every day on plan is a day you're doing your body a favor, and all those little half pounds and pounds that come off all add up. I don't notice a difference from day to day either, but I know in a month or two when it's a good chunk of weight I will! Stay the course because as Heidi said, days like that pass.

I didn't weigh at the start this time either. Partly because I don't have a scale this time around, and partly because I know myself well enough that if the pounds don't seem to move fast enough I might get discouraged. I have weighed at my sister's house so I know the scale is moving in the right direction, I just don't have a clear picture of how much! Who cares though, really -- as long as the pounds are coming OFF instead of going ON!

Re: kicking myself in the butt

i gotta tell ya, i didn't weigh in at the first because i knew i had got to a weight higher than i have ever gotten before and i was already feeling bad about myself... i just didnt' want to see how bad it had gotten... i'll weigh in at the 1 month mark and i'm hoping i'll be please with the number i see.

i know this is working because i really don't have alot of "will power" and yesterday, my boss brought in a whole bunch of fresh donuts and pastries... i didnt' have the urge to even look at them. i'm extremely proud of that. i'll be hanging in there. no sweat...

I'm proud of you too, Dan! It can be hard to resist temptation but you've proved to yourself that it can be done.

Listen to Heidi and Luna, they give great advice!

Well done Dan - you are doing great!!

Have you got some tight clothes that you can use as an indication of whether you are shrinking? I found it encouraging to see mine gradually fit then get too loose!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Re: kicking myself in the butt

Hi all, nice words of encouragement. I must say I needed to hear them too. It's my 100th time around and I seem to go up and down 3 to 4lbs and I'm doing induction, granted I am having diet coke but I have a major sweet tooth and when my husband is having pizza and my mouth is watering. Diet coke doesn't seem so bad, but when i come to work and weigh in. I work in a locker room so the scale constantly calls me to check out my progress or lack thereof and i see i'm half a pound more than the day b4 turning down pizza, my fave, I get very discouraged.

We all have those days. They do pass! Doesn't matter that you didn't weight when you began. Just use your first weight recorded and add a + on it. You can tell from your measurements and the way your clothes fit that you are losing!! You are doing awesome and you should be proud that you can restrain from weighing all the time. It drives ya nuts!! Good job....best wishes!!

I've had those "am I getting anywhere with this" days too...those are the days to grab a water bottle, and go for a long walk. You're doing great, just keep truckin!
