  • Today begins week 2

Today begins week 2 of my induction! I am down 4 pounds from last week!!! Kind of hoped for more, but hey, four pounds lost is better than nothing, and better than gained right?
If anyone is looking for some EXCELLANT low carb meals, check this one out: http://users3.ev1.net/~fontlady/ Very good! She really has some tastey treats up there! I am not bored like I was last time!

I am doing things differant now! Water my main drink now! I am still drinking caffine But I am drinking like 96 ounces of water a day, so I think I am justified! LOL! I know I know, give it up right? Just cant do it yet! But I am learning the importance of other things, like sugar and chocolate... maybe should not eat them again! That makes me sad!

Ok, so here is a question! I know not while I am on the induction.... But I know they have those low carb chocolate bars. Some of which are well... dreamy! But if I eat those, would that just leave me craving chocolate?

I am a recovering alcoholic! And I am getting this revelation that if it looks like beer and tastes like beer... you may as well be drinking beer (this is in referance to near beer). So would that not be the same thing for chocolate? Or do I have this all wrong? Please tell me I am wrong, I may not be ready to hear anything else! LOL!!!!

I know I know, chocolate is not my friend. But dang it sure acts like it is! LOL!

Ok, so now I go into week 2 with my head high, and my anticipation expectant! Hi Ho Hi Ho here I go!!!!

I think it is like near beer. I have read that your body can respond to a sweet taste like it responds to sugar (maybe to a lesser degree). This may sound weird but I think if you have a sugar-free treat that is different than an old favorite it helps. What I mean is if chocolate was an old friend, sugar-free chocolate might be bad. But maybe sugar-free cheese cake would be okay if you rarely had it before induction.

It might be best to avoid sweet tastes for a good long time to increase your sensitivity to them. Before I started induction I was eating some ripe berries and I thought they were kind of sour and I really wanted to put some sugar on them, but I didn't want to set a bad example for my children. Deep down I know they should have been sweet to me. I hope someday they will be.
