  • I found my way back!

    Hi everyone!

I see quite a few familiar folks around here, and some of you probably remember who I am.

Well, after having an unexpected and long hiatus from the group, I am back. Although I've missed all of you, I won't go into details as to why I've been gone. Just understand that I've had quite a difficult time and am now over that.

I've pretty much gained back all of the weight I'd worked so hard to get rid of. That upsets me, but I am the only one to blame. I let my problems get to me and I gave in to my temptations. However, I am back at another go around of this. Actually, I am just preparing myself for induction. Seeing as I am scheduled for surgery on the 4th of July (yeah, I know.. what a bummer way to celebrate, eh?), I won't be able to start dieting just yet. Especially since I will be having a tonsilectomy within the list of surgeries I will be having done, which means I will be eating ice cream. And no, there is no such thing as carb-free ice cream here in Germany! So, I'm just going to have to deal with what I get.

Anyhow, I missed the support that I got here and all the great information too and that's why I am back.

I'm sure it wont be long and you will see a lot more familiar faces. Good luck with your second time around bit.

Btw, you are in Germany, how close are you to any of the World Cup games? Which is your nearest word cup venue?

Koln? Nuremberg? Lipzeig? any of the others?

Re: I found my way back!

Thanks again. I won't be starting until mid July, but I'm getting psyched up now to start.

I'm actually close to Stuttgart. I think there will be 5 or 6 games played there, not really sure. I actually don't follow soccer/fussball at all. The only way I know that there are quite a few games being played there is because one of my closest friends is a hostess for Puma and she was at the opening game in Munich and will be at all other games in Stuttgart.

Re: I found my way back!

Hi 2big! Thanks for the suggestion. However, sugarfree popsicles are included in with the "no low carb ice cream" here in Germany. Plus, even if I were able to find them, I'm still stuck with eating the food at the hospital! It's not like in the States where you can go down to the cafeteria and pick out what you want. There is a meal that is cooked up for the day and you either eat it or you don't. If my family didn't have to work and take care of their own kids, I would've been able to at least "order" my meal through them, but they are clueless as to how to cook low-carb. So, I'm pretty much stuck with just waiting until I am back from the hospital. The way I see it, I will probably end up losing some weight while there since I will more than likely be unable to eat due to the pain!

I am sorry to hear about your impending hospital stay.

Will your family/friends be able to visit you at all while you are in hospital? If so perhaps they can bring in some cooked meat/bratwurst/cheese/roast chicken etc for you to eat?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
