  • Serious Help Needed!!!!!!

Ok Gang! Help Help HELP!!!!! This is really getting so old! We (hubby & me) are SO frustrated right now! We are not losing! We really have not lost outside of the first week we have been dieting, and we are on like week 5! We were eating carrots, but stopped that when we realized the carbs in them!

I was trying to post a typical menu, but that is too hard to do right now!

We are getting discouraged BIG TIME! I am ok with staying on it, but I am feeling down! I dont think I am losing inches either... my fat pants still feel tight!

Yes I drink water! Lots and lots and lots of water! Generally about 128 ounces a day! I dont know how much DH drinks! But he says he drinks plenty as well!

I do 3 meals a day! Generally breakfast is eggs! Then lunch is leftovers from the night before and a salad(small)! For dinner we are looking at recipes that are low carb and induction friendly... trying to stay within the recommended servings! Then I usually do not snack at night.

I do have small amounts of coffee in my day... though I have cut back VERY MUCH! And I have 2 Coke Zero's a day! One with lunch and one with dinner!

I know I am rambling on and on! I just want to lose again! We lost so much before... and now we are just ready to quit!

Then I looked at the fat fast... that would never work! My husband eats food, and he would never make it on 1000 calories! I guess though if that is our only option.... its not though is it? What about taking atkins accel?

    Re: Serious Help Needed!!!!!!

Try to do a completely clean induction - it's only 2 weeks of your life! Try a few days without any coffee, without any Coke Zero.

Also, are you getting enough veggies and salad in? If not, make sure you're getting enough!

Are you using any dressings or sauces? These can be lethal on induction and the early stages of Atkins - cut them out!

Finally, make sure you're both exercising! If you aren't, you're losing out - you can not diet without exercise!

I agree, Tirtle...you need to really examine what you are eating and see what shouldn't be there. Some people can handle diet soda and coffee, most of us can't. If you aren't eating enough, you won't lose either. Here is the link to finding out how many calories you need just to stay alive, and you shouldn't go more than 300 calories below that or your body kicks into starvation mode, and hangs on to everything. Here: http://www.weightlossforgood.co.uk/bmr_calculator.htm Enter everything you eat into fitday. It takes about 15 minutes to plan a menu by it, and its FREE. You should have the balance of 65% fat, 30% protein, and 5% carbs, or very close. I know I've given this advice before, BUT IT REALLY REALLY WORKS! Another thing to consider is Candida. Dr. Atkins has a chapter on it, and how it can keep you from losing weight. Are you eating splenda? You should only be having no more than 3 servings a day, and maybe even this can be too much for some. Also sodium...are you eating alot of salt? Just some suggestions. Posting a daily menu is very good for people showing you what could be wrong. Gotta go...Good luck.

          TrtleBaby,

You will need to do the hard stuff,

You need to post an honest to god down to the detail food intake here.

A salad is too non descript. This must be only veggies and in the right amount for induction.

Ditch the coke zero and the coffee.

I got a recipe for dinner: A steak fried, and 1 cup of lettuce.

If you are not losing, then I don't think you need recipies.

Another thing to consider is dairy - are you having milk, or too much cream?

Are you restricting your cheese?? CHEESE can be deadly, especially if you are eating the wrong type!

Are you eating any processed foods like Atkins bars etc - they must go for weight loss.

Only a few ideas there, because I don't know what you are eating.
Don't lose hope, this program is achieveable.

Do you think a guy who had a metabolism so out of wack, could get up to 473 pounds, and then lose 128 by luck?

This program works, if You work it to the letter, and be tough on yourself.

I agree about the recipes...I love to cook and experiment and when I was making great low carb recipes I was not losing....so I am trying to really limit low carb recipes

For dinner I make chicken or steak or buger patty or pork chop grilled and have broccoli or cauliflower or spiniach sometimes with some cheese always with some butter and a salad made of romaine or green leaf lettuce and low carb dressing..I put some cheese on this and a few dices of tomatoes and green onions...eat until satisfied ....you shouldn't be hungry but don't eat until stuffed or eat more of things just because they are "legal" I eat a nice big satifying dinner

lunch I usually have tuna salad because its quick cheap and easy...but you could have any of the thing you would have leftover from dinner or a salad with chicken
