I posted an introduction a few forums up, but wanted to jump in here as well. I've been away from Atkins for a while. I tried sticking to it when I started teaching, two years ago, but what started out as small cheats led to total carelessness followed by various new diet attempts ... from just watching what I eat (which was useless - I had no problem watching that Twinkie enter my lips...) to WeightWatchers (I was always hungry).
So I'm back here, two years and 35 pounds heavier than last time. I have all summer to get strong in my WOE before I'm back to school and finding candies stuck in my mailbox and cupcakes/cookies/muffins waiting for me at every staff meeting.
I really like this forum - kudos to whomever thought it up!
So I'm hosting three parties this weekend and have out-of-town guests all next week. I wanted to post so I can draw some support from my fellow club members. I've made a glorious cheese/meat/olive tray that I can pull out for each party. There will be birthday cake at two of them so I threw out the icecream (I can resist cake better if there's no icecream). I plan to have a Pisco sour* tonight, as it will be my first time making them, but mine will be very small and without sugar. I making it small because I don't want any lapses in judgement, haha. I'll also stick out a nut bowl, but I'll put MY nuts on a plate before eating them so I don't lose track of how many I've gobbled.
Tomorrow's party will be much eaier - my hubby is a master of the smoker and will create a bounty of low-carb delicacies. He'll also be frying up some naked wings.
My mom is coming next week to make "chicken-n-dumplings" for our guests that will be here for a week. I hate having to make a separate meal for me, but they will understand. Maybe I'll make a nice salad to go with the chicken-n-dumplings, then chunk mine up for a meal-salad.
Thanks to all of the STAC members who visit and post!
*A Pisco sour is like a combination of spiked lemonade and Orange Julius... Pisco, lime juice, sugar (Splenda for me, thanks), ice and egg whites (the secret ingredient to making the froth in the Orange Julius).
