Fozzie, you keep that up and watch how fast you start seeing results. Good for you!!
I miss my treadmill. I have back issues that the treadmill just seems to make worse! I move it around now, to mop underneath it. Waaah! One day, I am hoping to be able to "treadmill" again!

Of all my medical problems, my back seems to be less than the Ankle and "Frankenknee" problem. My knee really isn't that big a deal unless I'm really tired, then it tends to "slide" a little more and make me nervous. My ankle injury is what pretty much killed my last attempt at re-inventing my old days of being a running animal. I have arthritis in my back but that really only bugs me when I'm trying to get up and going in the AM... well PM (I work nights). I'm just getting creakier and creakier...

Great work, Fozzy. Take it easy, but keep moving as much as possible. You're gonna be surprised how fast you see your body toning up and how wonderful you feel about yourself....exercise gives you a mental boost that keeps you motivated!!

Fozzy, that's terrific! I started Atkins in February 2004 using just the Atkins website, but never enjoyed real weight loss until I restarted for the ump-teenth time last September. The difference? EXERCISE! I joined the YMCA and started working out on the cycling machines and treadmills. At my weight I didn't think I could do much more than that. I cycled 15 minutes and then walked 15 minutes, keeping my heart rate elevated into the cardio range. Eventually I got the courage to go downstairs to the weight room and try some of the strength training machines. I asked questions, developed a routine of so-many-reps-per-set, so-many-sets-per-exercise, learned a lot about what happens when I overdo it, and more about what happens when I skip it. Variety proved to be the key to keeping my commitment. Today I vary my workout between cycling, walking, weightlifting, swimming laps, Taebo, yoga, pilates, and exercise ball. When I lose more weight I'll try running again. Last time I tried it I injured my knees and ankles and suffered swollen joints after every run... not good to overdo it and wind up a couch potato as I recover, eh? LOL Anyhow best of luck to you!

You are braver than me! My son is about to enter high school. He's keeping me motivated with biking. He runs. Mom is too old/fluffy for that. I do silently dream to run with him. He's such an inspiration to me. My oldest followed Atkins a few years back and has kept the weight off. Even my husband has cut back on breads and sugars. Uhm, then why do *I* have the hard time with weight?? HAHA
