Well, I feel right at home here! I first started L/C in 2003 at 250 lbs. Got down to 208 in no time flat. Then, I got off track somehow and ballooned back up to 250 then just for fun added another 10 lbs on top of that. I have made innumerable attempts to go L/C again but failed time and time again! I was off and on the "diet" so many times that my family would (and still do, for that matter) just basically roll their eyes at me when I would tell them I'm trying again. What's different about this time, though, is that I'm getting the support I need from all of you. (Well, not yet, but this is only my second post!) Also, I'm praying daily that God will help me make the right choices. And that He will give me the will to stay on track.

Re: I'm futurefitbabe!!
Honestly, re-read the book (Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution) and do it the right way, and climb the rungs...you'll be just fine. You just can't go wrong. I'm a second time arounder too...and this time I'm not doing "Joy's version of Atkins", I'm doing Dr. Atkins version of Atkins and it's made SUCH a big difference. *Duh, Joy*
Anyway, do the two week induction and move into OWL, you won't regret it.~Joy

Re: I'm futurefitbabe!!
I have re-started a number of times. Each time telling myself this time I was going to change.
This time I'm just taking it one day at a time. That's all we can do.
Just remember... you ARE worth it!

Re: I'm futurefitbabe!!
Hi, like you this is at least my thirtieth time on low carb. I have failed so many times but I will not this time. What is working this time is I am taking control of my plan, and my food and not letting it control me. We do not eat out at all. Have not in weeks. We only eat food cooked at home. I also plan tomorrows meals tonight. I know exactly what I am eating so there is not guess work. I do not even think about it now. I also eat very plain. Eggs and bacon every morning, veggies or salad for lunch with a protien, either tuna or salmon, turkey or chicken, everything decided the night before. Dinner is either two chicken thighs or one nice size chicken breast and a big bowl of steamed frozen veggies. All of it decided the night before. I do not have to think about it. I also know that IF I want a snack, it will be a slice of cheddar cut into sticks. Sometimes with a half a dill pickle. I do not snack all that much, nor do I want it.
The way I used to low carb before this time was buy all kinds of low carb foods and just get up and eat what I wanted each day. Nothing was really planned, I just would wing it. I am eating so healthy and food has ceased to be all that impmortant to me anymore. With the decision out of the way, I can be free to concentrate on more important things.
This is what is working for me . You just have to find what works for you. It really is that simple, find what works best and make a commitment to do it !!
I look forward to watching you post meeting your goals !!!

Re: I'm futurefitbabe!!
Wow ~ that is so what happens with me too! I've started and stopped many times ~ i've lost weight and regained it back many times ~ and the one thing that really does make a difference in my success, is no joke: this board. When i stopped posting/checking in last year, i think it was August or September, it was a short time after that when i lost it, got of track, and went nuts with sugar and carbs again. So i think that if we all keep up with this board, with this community of fabulous people, then that is a huge part of the key to our success...Originally posted by futurefitbabeI have made innumerable attempts to go L/C again but failed time and time again! Re: I'm futurefitbabe!!
good luck! you can do it!Sorry everyone. I've had to abandon Atkins. After slipping up, I gained back everything and more. I fully believe in and support Atkins, I know it works, but it's too hard for me. I'm following my own plan now, exercising more, eating less in general and healthier, still focusing more on veggies and fruits and whole grains and much less processed junk and bad carbs. I still visit here occasionally, so I will keep my stats listed here when I do. I wish everyone the best on this program or any others that work for you.
