  • reintroduction.. my third time around

hi everyone. this is my third time starting Atkins. I had some success the other 2 times I've done Atkins (lost 20 on it, gained 45 (eek) off it, lost 40 on it, gained 25 or so off it). For some reason when I get around 6 months in (which also tends to correspond with 155 lbs, the weight I was through most of high school and college), I slip and fall on my butt. I'm really tired of this 6 months on/6 months off cycle.. and really tired of being unable to get under 150. The lowest weight I can ever remember being was 140 for about 2 seconds when I was 16 and as short as I am, I was still overweight then. it's depressing when I think about.

anyway, I'm motivated again! almost done with day 3.. feeling induction flu more than I did the first 2 times, but I know it will pass. I just can't wait till I feel more up to exercising, cuz right now I really don't have the energy.

this board helped me a lot in the past.. many thanks to you all! I was mostly a lurker, but I plan to be more active this time.

at least I know this diet does work and I know exactly how to do it right (I even reread most of the book to make sure I didn't forget anything). I will not give in to carb temptation!
Sorry everyone. I've had to abandon Atkins. After slipping up, I gained back everything and more. I fully believe in and support Atkins, I know it works, but it's too hard for me. I'm following my own plan now, exercising more, eating less in general and healthier, still focusing more on veggies and fruits and whole grains and much less processed junk and bad carbs. I still visit here occasionally, so I will keep my stats listed here when I do. I wish everyone the best on this program or any others that work for you.

Welcome to STAC, LyraLee! I love how you have your "extensive size 8/9 wardrobe" listed in your signature. That makes me laugh ~ i always say that i can dress anyone, any size from my "bins" ~ i have every size from 4 to 20 in my house! I am a clothes packrat, i guess. I just can't let go of some of the stuff!

      Glad you found us here!

        Thanks Rachel!

Dragonfly, that's a great saying! I'm a packrat with pretty much everything, though I've gotten a little better since having to move. I wish I could say I had size 4's, but I don't think I've ever fit in less than a 7. I do have lots in the 8-14 range though.

Me too ~ i have the most clothes in that range! I am hoping to get down to 12/14 this fall because as my best friend tells me - "You have a killer fall bin!" Ha ha ha... We'll see how it goes! I hate summer ~ it is so hot and nothing is worse than being hot and overweight. That combination seriously leaves something to be desired. My goal for next year is to no longer feel this way...
