What happened? Was it sugar free or low carb?

my friends all took a trip to baskin-robbins, and I was really hungry to begin with. my mind blanked a little and I figured "no sugar added" was the same as "sugar free". i got home and looked at the nutrition facts online-- 34 carbs!

and it probably had milk in it too - which makes it an induction no-no whatever it was sweetened with!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

The only "safe" ice cream on induction is the kind you make yourself with heavy cream & spenda. There are some recipes floating around the board. Of course, you can do things with shave ice or a blender and freezer that are good on these hot days.

Re: i should have known sugar free ice cream was a lie!

I know how you feel. the first time I started Atkins, I got through about 3 weeks and then thought I'd try the "low carb" breyers carb smart ice cream (it only had 4 carbs, I thought). maybe one serving would have been ok, but I ended up indulging almost daily, and though I didn't gain, I stalled out for a long time and got too used to the treat. evil sugar alcohols...

now I've learned it's SO much better to stay away from all that junk, whether it claims to be low carb or not. every now and then I'll have a little sugar free jello, but I limit that a lot since it has aspertame.

anyway, good job recognizing the problem and getting back on track. we WILL get this weight off!
Sorry everyone. I've had to abandon Atkins. After slipping up, I gained back everything and more. I fully believe in and support Atkins, I know it works, but it's too hard for me. I'm following my own plan now, exercising more, eating less in general and healthier, still focusing more on veggies and fruits and whole grains and much less processed junk and bad carbs. I still visit here occasionally, so I will keep my stats listed here when I do. I wish everyone the best on this program or any others that work for you.

11-10-07: 210/146/125 - more than 60 pounds lost this year!
