  • ::+:: Hallelujah ::+:: ***14th Day on Induction*** 2 Week Mark! 7/27/06

Well it’s official my two week anniversary is here.. I have lost a total of -10lbs in the first two weeks.

I have come to the conclusion that the scale is really not my friend, I weight in this morning expecting I don’t know something besides what I got I didn’t lose anything in the last few days I actually gained something like .3lbs and emotionally It threw me for a tailspin, I tried to suck it up and went on mybodycomp website put in my numbers ( after I measured myself) and I am going by the tape measure now I am not going to weigh myself until my 1month anniversary is here.

10lbs in two weeks – is good! Yay me and I am hiding my scale I don’t need that to be my success guide.

I am dragging my behind to the gym today after work – wether I work late or not.

My decided to go ahead and give atkins a shot! I am so happy, I stayed up last night and cooked for her & me!

Some one has on their signature - " two weeks from now wish you had started today" or something along those lines... Well I am doing good, going down that’s what counts I feel 50xs better than I did two weeks ago!

Congratulations, La-La!!! Ten pounds is really quite good indeed. Are you planning on sticking with extended induction or moving to OWL? Keep up the good work!

I am going to stick with Extended induction, I was telling my wonder mother about this success and she had decided to do this with me! She's hates computers and won't even get on I want to show her how to go to the dieta atkins link. Anyways I am excited that she will be doing it with me- I stayed up last night and cooked her breakfast (eggs & Sausage with bacon) and lunch ( chicken with some onion, tomatoes, jalapenos - kinda like stir fry) I made her a Mock Danish and left her notes! We will see how she does. No one has answer my question that I put in the inducution forum can we make those Mock Danish in advance and store them like in the fride?

        Thanks!

Ooooh, can you make me a Mock Danish too? Ha ha ha. How DOES that work, anyway? What is the consistency?

Cool that your mom is doing this with you. That will be very good for you both to do this together. I just gave my mom the South Beach diet book yesterday. She has tried Atkins before and didn't like it because of the fat amounts, so i said maybe she'd like SBD better.

I love the Mock Danish, I added Flaxseed to mine to it gives it kinda like a nutty taste... YUM!

            Here is the recepie
            Mock Danish
            one serving

            2 oz cream cheese (2)
            1 large egg, beaten(0.6)
            1 packet Splenda(1)
            1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract(0.3)

Put cream cheese in a small, microwave-safe dish. Microwave on high for about 1 minute or until softened. Remove from microwave. Stir in the egg, Splenda and vanilla extract into the cream cheese. Put back into microwave and cook on high for 2 minutes.

            Total carbs: 3.9 grams
            Fiber: 0 grams
            Net carbs: 3.9 grams
            Cheese allowance: 2
            Sweetener allowance: 1

*Note: Cream cheeses vary in carb count. So be sure to check your packages. Also note that some people add a tablespoon of fiber supplement to their Mock Danish to give it a more "bready" (sturdy) texture. If you do this, you MUST include the the fiber supplement carbs.

Picture a banana nut bran muffiny type of just a lil sweet thingy.... I made is in just a regular bowl ( not plastic) and it's just gooooood! try it

I made the mock danish before. I'm not sure what I did wrong, but the consistency was to mushy for me. Your version looks good though!

I think it was the flaxseed that made the difference, if you have a Walmart near by when you get a chance check they have sell ground flaxseed for like$3.97 it's by the sugar/flour/cake - the forbidden aisle

Thanks for the recipe, La La. I'll have to try that. Or, you could just cook for all of us. That would work better - yours DOES look quite perfect!

Ooooh, I don't know if I can handle the "bad" food section yet. But I'll have to try that. Maybe I can send DH in to get it, lol.

Yeah it does ~ i want that now. Ha ha ha. I only have whipped cream cheese though; i guess i'd probably have to get the bar version. I have no idea what 2 oz would be.

                          Congratulations on your loss!!

I'm so glad your Mom is doing this with you!! It helps to know you have a buddy at home that will eat the same as you -- helps with temptations.

Remember to let the tape measure be your guide in your weight loss. I've read several posts where people will go down sizes more than pounds.

                          Best wishes on your journey!

Congrats!!! 10 pounds is wonderful! 10 pounds lighter and many inches gone and feeling wonderful - hardly a "diet" if ya ask me! You are 10 pounds closer to your goal!!! No loss in a few days means its coming. I lost more the first few days after induction - i think it was my increase in veggies.

You can do it. Heck, you ARE doing it.
