  • Quality of Life!

Ok ya'll I had written this in the early hours of the morning, and I thought I posted it, but I cannot find it anywhere on the site.
I got up at 6am this morning for "me time" you know, reading here, emails, quiet time. No hurry, no rushing before work and I also wanted to get in 20 mins on the stationary bike.
As the early moments of the morning moved along, and I walked through each of these "things" I wanted to get done, I realized I actually did them! I did get up at 6am. I did sleep great last night and really all 7 nites so far. I had quality time today. I did get the bike ride in before the terrible heat of the day invaded my house, or the tiredness of the day left me too spent.
I had a revelation, "oh my gosh" there is this extra empowerment to get back the "other things" in my life I have sat around and whined about....
I-GOT-UP-At-6am!!!!! I can't do that, and oh so want to... I have done it two days in a row, easily. I got the important things in first. You know, put the big rocks in the big jar first then you can still fit in the pebbles, sand and water...
I was so amazed. I have been working for days on food, and water and oh yeah I am getting the water "in" too...
All of these things adds of to quality life for me. I just want to maintain this consistenly all these extra little things...because they bring quality life and that empowers me.
So, I challenge you guys, all of you STAC-ers. To look around, just outside the circle of carbs, and food, and water, and suppliments, and exercise and see the quality they are bringing to your life maybe it will empower you to bring one little thing back into your life you use to have.
    A walk with your honey
A trip to the park with your kids
A few moments in a scrapbook
A few moments in a journal...
This plan gives energy and healthiness that empowers!!!!!
Go for it!!! Grab something extra today, you have not been able to reach for in some time....for me for some reason, it's that 6am thing!

    Very nice post Jess!

We used to have a post (been quite a while) that continued constantly on ways to do things for ourselves - read a good book, have our nails done, buy a new lipstick, etc. Things that help you feel rewarded, help you feel your successes, etc. Your post reminds me of that

Great post! Funny how our thinking changes once we have one part down pat. First food, water, exercise.. LIFE!

Love that me time! You deserve it! It's so hot to ride, I'm gonna look for some stilt things to put under my bike to raise it up to make it stationary so I can ride in the a/c LOL

The "stilts" thing is called a trainer, and you can get one of those at a bike shop for 75-100.00... We use to have them, they are magnetic, so you can change the resistence if you want, I never did, I just changed gears on my bike. I have a stationary bike, haven't used it in yrs. but there is no way I can handle being outside...I am so overweight, that it would not be safe or practical to ride in the heat at this season in my endurance on two wheels...

          Re: Quality of Life!

My youngest DD and I went to a 32 acre show garden today and walked for over 4 hrs. It's something we've thought about doing several times but like anything else it gets lost in the day to day mountain of things we HAVE to do. Today we DID IT.

There are several benches and rest areas dedicated in memory of loved ones. One in particular stood out for me - it said "Sit. Stay a minute. Enjoy nature's beauty." the next line said two names of a mother and father, and then finally "Take the time they never had time to take."

A couple years ago I'd have been sacked out on the couch, dead on my feet after all that walking.. and forget doing any housework or errands afterwards. Yay for having the energy to actually take the ME time.
