Well, it's day 9. I feel good, did not sleep much last night, watched 2 hours go by on the clock, but decided no matter what to get up at my new time and follow my new routine. Just as important as the weight loss it to me is, probably even more important is a consistent routine I can fall on every day, or fall back on, or look forward to. My daughter and I have worked hard over these last 9 days and we have 4 to go, before school starts and we want to have 2 weeks of consistency under us as the new school yr starts, then we will move things around just a little and continue on our way.
Striving for consistency takes the emotions out of the whole deal. Consistency creates discipline and we actually feel much better when we are self disciplined. Consistency at one month will move some of my actions very close to "habit"...
Habits don't just happen, they happen on purpose. Once I have some longer term success and weight loss is apparent, it will be because of consistency that I might speak out loud, out side of my immediate family about what I am doing, and how great I feel. I need a track record before I say a word.
As I lay in bed last night and then as I was walking around during this long 2 hr time, I said to myself, "well you have nothing to get up for in the morning, sleep in, and don't freak out about being tired." But, I DID have EVERYTHING to get up for, I had to get up for my Routine's sake, because I am building "consistency"...
In the diet world you take something away and replace it with a good thing, a healthy thing. There is so much more to life than food that makes us happy and healthy... Consistency is one of those things for me.
It's just outside that "circle of food"
(I am working on getting a photo up on the site. It's a professional head shot for my business, so I look my best, not really like it is every day...but I have no other photos, imagine that!!!! Every time I go to submit, it takes me to a "page not found" page....)
Hey girlfriends, day 9 is here! It's gonna be a great day, build that consistency in your life, keep creating momentum and of course, seek out that quality of life!
