  • hello

I'm new here. This will be my second time of doing Atkins. I lost 68 lbs before but regained 30 lbs. It took a little courage to post for the first time. In the morning I will re-start Induction and hopefully I won't fall off the wagon again.

      Re: hello

      Welcome Chocoholic,
We are glad you are hear and yeah! for the courage to post and join us. It's a great place and community is happening, keep posting, and we will all get to know you a little.
I am Jess, I am on day 11 of induction. I did Atkins in the past and I lost weight and gained so much quality life. I guess when I quit last time I did not realize all that would slowly slip from my fingers. Atkins gives my body such rest. Once I get past all the detoxing, I am calmer than usual. I sleep so much better and I get that energy I need. I had lost all of that over the course of these last few yrs. I grew more and more unhappy with myself, and I lost the ability to sleep, good. I could not bring myself to return to structure and discipline. Our family returned from a rare vacation and I looked at my very overweight daughter and said, "this is what I am setting her up for, my lifestyle?" The wake up call was more than enough to push me into action.
Now, it's 11 days, and those days have each been a full day's work with the diet, exercise and water, but a quality of life, a momentum, is all moving me towards a consistency, that eventually will turn into habit....Right now I do many things totally on purpose because I like the results they give me. REally it's been such a short time, but time filled with such purpose and meaning and such immediate results. Within the very first week, so much has changed.
Hey welcme and have a great day, the rewards of this day are far more than you can imagine.

              Good morning!

Thank you all for your kind support. This is really encouraging. I will make some eggs for breakfast. Then I will go grocery shopping. I think posting here will be really good for me since it will give me a push to stay on this plan.

My saving grace is having foods on hand that are right for me. Day 4 was the toughest for me. Hubby laughed when I said I was so frustrated I wanted to eat the dog's tail LOL Hang in there! After two weeks you will feel brand new!

Hello and welcome! You will love it here. As I told another person in a previous post, I feel so much open to be honest with the people here and I am sure you will feel the same too. Have a great rest of the day and enjoy low carb shopping. I have to do the same this evening!

I think the dog's tale is on the induction plan, it's meat right??? You could eat the dog's tale on Atkins!!!
