  • Eating schedule

For the most part, I eat on a schedule because I work. Working at home allows me to eat whatever *I* want - including snacks.

I noticed when I first started Atkins 5 weeks ago that my eating times were all over the place. The hunger set in suddenly and I was ravenous at times. Easy time to stumble.

To avoid such temptations I had lots of things on hand that I could eat and still be within limits , thanks to the insistance of my wonderful husband.

Now I noticed I'm eating at scheduled times. I don't watch the clock and prepare to eat. Instead, it's more like "oh! lunch!?" I try to limit my intake at breakfast so that I am hungry at lunch. So, my portions are smaller and I'm eating more normally - instead of that 3 lb of bacon like everyone thinks we eat daily LOL

Anyone else notice this? I do notice that at night I literally have to force myself to eat a little something - usually veggies to make sure I get all my carbs in.

Perfectly normal, isn't ketosis a wonderful appetite supressant?... You eat when you're hungry, don't eat when you're not, unless it's been more than a few hours, in which case you should have something.

It's also a good idea to have some of your veggies with every meal, as well as some fat & protein.

        Re: Eating schedule

Thanks, Joy. It's my second time around so I'm trying to learn from my mistakes. I WANT to triumph! I'm trying all I can to stay in the right frame of mind. I have made the decision that this is the way I Have to eat the rest of my life or I will gain weight. It's not a diet. It's not a goal met to have a splurge. I have proven I can live without that junk and be happy and healthy. I want a long, happy, healthy life. I want to live a long time with my husband and see my great grandkids! Familial problems can possibly be avoided if I take care of my body.

You are a great inspiration, lady!
