  • Happy Sunday!

Happy Sunday to you all! How is everyone doing today? The boards are usually pretty quiet on the weekends... is anyone checking in?

Today was weigh in day and i was down 1.5 pounds. I was hoping for more, so honestly i am a little bit bummed. But rationally, i know that is pretty good. I didn't gain or stay the same. With all of the exercise i am doing, i thought i would be seeing a more dramatic loss. But here i go again letting the scale rule me. I have to stop that. I am going to go measure myself now to log that in. Maybe that will show me something a little more!

So, no luck with measuring. AND i went "up" two inches in my waist since last week. Could that really happen during your TOM? Today should be my last day of it. I wouldn't think that i would still be retaining water...

    I'm officially bummed.

      Re: Happy Sunday!

Rough start to the day for me. I was awake half the night peeing it feels like. And man does my toe HURT. Looks really nasty too. It's keeping me from doing any serious excerise. I went out to lunch with my parents and they took me to some bakery/sandwich shop. Ugh! I ended up ordering a plain roast beef and then just eating the roast beef. Not the most ideal solution since I'm sure there was lots of crap int he deli meat. But better than nothing. So I just came home and had an egg and some jerky for a snack.

I am so thirsty I could drink a river. And I'm getting the cramps in my calves, so I'm going to try potassium supplements. Looking forward to my toe feeling better so I can put shoes back on and excercise. I broke my self-imposed goal of not weighing myself during induction and found I'm down 4 pounds, so that's good. Just have to not do that again for a while.

Ok Dragonflymoon, DFM, I want to encourage you, in a few days this will all be over and your body will be in a different place, we hold on to water during our tom....another thing have you ever worked out before? You know your working out is creating lead muscle, which WEIGHS more than fat....so, you might have lost fat, built some muscle, retained water, and the scales are all reflecting this....
If you lift weights, your scales will reflect little weight loss, but your measurements will reflect your hard work....
Your gonna see it, I know if you just work your plan every day, keep your head down and plod along, it's gonna happen....If you don't reflect change next sunday with the tom out of the way, maybe examine what you are eating, or maybe a plateau....
You are doing all the right things!!! Itll come, don't let that metal box tell you other wise...

pstansel, hang in there girl, I would take potassium if you are having leg cramps. Keep up a positive attitude, and hang on tight, one day at a time and tomorrow will be better...

            Re: Happy Sunday!

Thanks for the support, Jess. I really do appreciate you. I have worked out before, last year when i was on a roll, and i know these things rationally, but sometimes the irrational part takes over... i suppose especially when the TOM is here. I am doing weights three days a week and treadmill 3 days a week right now.

But none of that matters right now. I just found out that my Aunt Helen died this morning. I am walking around, out of it, in a daze. In shock. She was old, true, but it just wasn't expected. She was my "great" aunt, technically, but my "great" aunts and uncles were all more aunts and uncles to me than my parents' brothers or they wives ever were. It is a very sad day. I can't believe she is gone...

                Re: Happy Sunday!

my sunday has been great. I honestly can't believe i've stuck to this diet for so long. and i'm just getting used to it. it's habit, it seems!

for the past few days i've been keeping track of what i eat in the atkins journal my mom gave to me. today i was surprised to see i haven't cheated in 7 days. I hadn't weighed myself either, so i snuck in to weigh myself (even though it was mid-day and my weigh-in day is tomorrow)... good results

i bought a detox program online, because i'm really worried about my digestive system on atkins. i had talked to someone at work, who told me he did this cleansing program to see amazing results. i've been doing it 3 days and i already feel a lot better. I think it's going to be great in conjuction with atkins. I checked the book and the label. 10 carbs- 8 fiber, 2 sugar... so only 2 net carbs, which isn't bad.

right now I'm eating my new favorite atkins snack-- celery & cream cheese. yum yum!

                good luck
