  • This IS my time

OK, my Atkins journey is starting today. I have tried and failed at the first hurdle 3 times this year because I have felt sorry for myself when the headaches and sickness kicked in. And now, guess what? I am186lbs!!!! I was only 172lbs in January and if I had of stuck with this WOE I know by now I could be at goal. Instead I am fatter.

When I get the headaches this time I am going to take it as a sign I am losing and I know they will go away after a few days.

I have planned this time round a lot better as well. I sat down last week and worked out meal plans, recipes and shopping lists. I think it’s easier to quit if you don’t have plans set out. My Mum is being a huge help, she has been succesfull on Atkins and I know it breaks her heart when she sees me crying because I feel fat and ugly.

I have been slim before and I know how good it feels. I want to feel that way again, I want my self confidence back.

I only want to get to 140-147 so it’s not a HUGE amount to lose. I am hoping I can be at goal for Christmas. That’s 39lbs in 18 weeks. That’s a little over 2lbs a week. I hope this is achievable. What do you guys think?

Take care everyone and good luck xxx

I think it is very achievable. Good luck.

But on the flip side of the coin, don't be too discouraged if the weight comes of slower than you would like, as it can be different for different people. Just do your best and eventually you will reach goal. After all, when you get to goal you will stay there wont you?

We are all here for you, and its always good to see fellow UK people signing up.

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

you know the only thing...I mean there is only really ONE THING that keeps us from our goals....Quitting! Don't quit, work hard, stay focused, if you fall down, get right back up, and keep moving...Way of Life, not Short TERM goal....

batlo8 - congrats on taking control! Wise girl you are to plan ahead! That really does make it easier. Just remember, the headaches mean you are DETOXIFYING all the bad stuff from your body! you are doing your body a wonderful thing by doing this. Think how evil sugar is. It really is. It's like a drug; keeing you hooked! Has this drug gotten you anywhere??? NO! I promise you, if you do the induction properly, after a few days all this will be history! You will have accomplished so much - gaining control! You CAN do it.

Take it one day at a time.. one meal or hour if you have to. If you feel hungry - eat! Make sure it is the correct things. After 2 weeks you will not be eating near as much nor at all the strange times. Your body will settle in and love this new WOE.

Keep posting.. we all struggle.. its human nature. But with support and encouragement from those who have been there, done that we can get through those hurdles.

Best of luck to you!! Nothing worth having comes easy!
