  • Checking in on Tues!

    Good morning STAC-ers...
How is everybody doing, on this way of life.

I am good, the day has started off pretty rough...having to drop all and run my teen to high school because this yrs bus driver runs late....
I am anal about being on time, and so is my kid!

Thank goodness I have been getting up at 6am for 2 weeks now so this was a very easy thing to transition into...
Last yr this time, I was out like a light, sleeping very hard and unable to get up early. I was depressed, took a sleeping pill, and could not get up and over come the day before, and that was an every day thing. I felt so terrible, but I just could not get up...my husband did all that very early morning stuff, for the first time...
Today they were moving aorund and I came out at 6 and they just looked at me. There I was smiling, sleepy, but smiling and able to interact.
I smoothly got dressed and smiled and took Caitlin to school...
So my new life is showing off to the family...My new life is so much better than my old life...
You all cannot imagine the change in my daily interactions with family and responsibilities, and the load I carry here. You cannot imagine how different I am. How my family put up with me for so long in the depressed, over eaten, beer drinking life I was living...
I am thriving, and drinking in every minute of it. Getting the carbs so out of my life, and the sugars and white stuff has made such an immediate change in me, and my daily performance.
Every once in a while, I get a craving and a very irritable moment when I feel stuck, and I can't have what I WANT!!! But, some how I make it through those moments and come into these moments again....

Hey, since joining this board, it has drawn alot of my writing gifting up to the surface again, and I find myself writing longer posts...because I want to write again...so I have started a daily blog. I have copied and pasted some of the longer posts from here to there...and I fill in more of my life...
I have only let a few people know about the blogsite, but YA'LL are all welcome, because you know the deal and understand...
I am putting it on my signature...

Happy to hear you are writing. I love to get it all out on paper.. computer? LOL Sometimes my thoughts are too fast and I cannot get into words what I want to say. I started a Stats Journal here on the boards to get those thoughts out. It helps so much. Love the blog idea, just hope you copy/paste your writings. I enjoy reading them

        Re: Checking in on Tues!

Well I weighed myself for the first time in a couple days, and I am down 9 pounds since I started induction Friday. I'm not going to lie and say I've been perfect... I did have a bit of the birthday cake that my kids baked me yesterday. Just a couple fork fulls. I turn 32 today, which feels old to me but I'm sure some of you will tell me I'm still a baby. What's scary is that when my dad turned 32 I was 12! So I remember it clearly . My oldest on the other hand is 5, so it doesn't make me feel quite as old as I might.

I'm working on spreading my carbs out better throughout the day. I tend to eat my high carb cup of veggies towards the end of the day (like dinner) and just eat the salad veggies at lunch. I need to start mixing it up a bit. Thank god for pumpkin. Seriously, I could eat the pumpkin pie recipe morning noon and night . I had a hlaf cup this morning with breakfast to spread my carbs around a bit. I'm also trying to eat more fat at breakfast. I need to come up with some higher fat snacks. About 3 or so I am starting to get hungry, and the snacks I have tend to be more protein than fat. Unfortunately I'm just not a huge cheese person. I'm thinking of trying the frozen cream cheese chocolate squares though. I've got a freezer at work I can stick them in.

Took the stairs again this morning. Probably wishful thinking so soon, but it almost feels a touch easier. My goal is to make it in one shot without dying or pausing half way up like I do now. After that maybe I'll tackle going all the way up to the 12th floor and back down again. Toe hurts pretty bad today. I may have to give in and just tape it. I need to start more excercise but I'm struggling both physically and to find the time. I'm sleeping better at night, but my son still gets up over and over (he's 3). So I still wake up pretty tired. Oh yeah, and I haven't given up my cup of coffee yet. Bad, I know. But lord do I need it some days.

ooooh! good tuesday! today was weigh-in day, and it looks like i'm about 4 pounds down from last week....although I find it very hard to believe!

my old pants won't even stay on anymore, but I'm still skeptical. A big thing for me is no one has mentioned "have you lost weight?" even though i've lost 15 pounds! scales lie!

Happy Birthday Pstansel! Congrats on those stairs, that is real achievement and dedication. You know there are stair climbing clubs, where people climb stairs on exercise purpose...like on a Saturday morning....some even do competitions....

Great weightloss BeeB....how cool...soon people will just wonder, "what is it about her that has changed"... Nobody has mentioned my weight loss either, tho I am starting to go around pulling up my most comfortable pair of pants, that are soon going to be impossible to wear.
Thanks for all the kudos on the writing. I wrote a good one today, checke it out...
www.jdudley.blog.com I am surprised at all the comes to my fingers as I sit here, interjecting and bringing of deeper themes than just weight and scales....It just has caused such a flow...

                Re: Checking in on Tues!

                Hi STAC friends...

I've been really down for the past few days about my Aunt passing away... the funeral is today, in Pa, so there was really no way for all of us to go on such short notice. Especially with the baby and all ~ and all of these new rules and regulations about flying... it is just a huge hassle. We decided instead to plan a longer trip in October to visit with our family then, to help them out and keep them company. I know from personal experience that it is really the month or so after the shock of losing a loved one, that you really need someone. Everyone surrounds you for the funeral, and it is chaos, and you float through it somehow... and then you find yourself totally alone. So i think this will be the best way to do things to support our uncle.

Interesting family story ~ my two great aunts (sisters) married two best friends, and then they lived next door to each other their whole lives! Now my two aunts are gone, and my two uncles are left alone. I am very thankful that they have each other though to keep each other company. The whole thing is just very sad... even though they are my "great" aunts and uncles, they are more like aunts and uncles to me than my own parents' siblings...

                Anyway, enough of my sadness...

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. I admit it will hurt tonight at my birthday dinner not to have all those things I would otherwise... pizza, ice cream, etc; I think I'm going to indulge and have a second cup of coffee though

                      Happy Birthday, pstansel!

I turned 33 yesterday. I also started induction on friday. Yesterday it was really hard not to buy chocolate, since that is my weakness. I'm so glad I didn't give in. I know I would've hated myself afterward.

I survived my birthday party cheat free... well, I had a cup of coffee. But I said no thanks to my own cake and stuck with some pumpkin. Still got to sort out better high fat snacks!
