  • Weigh in and slightly despondent

    Hi Guys

I cheated and weighed in this morning again, only to reveal that i have lost nothing further. So basically i have lost just under 2 pounds in 1 week of induction.

Terrified that this isnt working for me. BUT I have been working hard at the gym and can slowly feel my tummy toning up.

Check out my menu from yesterday and please any help or advice on how to tweak it to accomplish that woosh would be marvellously appreciated.

Breakfast: 1 egg and teaspoon butter
    Snack:coffee and cream
Lunch: 1 egg and 60g cheese
Dinner: 160g chicken with lettuce and mange tout ( british name for type of pea, very low in carbs) One teaspoon mayo
    Desert: Coffee and Cream

    Water: 3 Litres
Exercise: 45 min cardio 15 min training

PS im very strict with the cream and it never goes above 2 fl oz per day. is this too much?

HELP GURU'S! WHAT AM I DOING WRONG???

Savannah, get rid of the coffee as caffiene has a bad effect on some people.

Also, imho it doesnt actually look as if you are eating enough (as bizarrely as that may sound).

You are not eating nearly enough vegetables, you need to get your carbs in that way for a more balanced diet. Spreading them out over the day for full effect.

Im so worried about over doing the veggies that i must admit i skimp on them. EAt more?? Last night i only managed to eat half my veg and left the mayo, which is not normal for me cause im a veg freak! I love them! This WOE just makes me full so fast , to be honest the fat makes me feel slightly quesy as well.

I am trying so hard to swear off the cheese- and will watch the coffee. Any other wise words would be great.

How heavy is 59kg in Stones? It also looks as though you probably don't have that much to lose. The less you have to lose the slower it will come off also.

In fact, I have just noticed that your target it to lose 11lbs. A really good rule of thumb for you is - In the first 2 weeks of induction, you are likely to lose around 10% of your required weight loss. So as you have already lost 2lbs, you are ahead of the game.

I hope that makes you feel a little better?

You should add a steak for lunch! Something! I never lose when I eat that little. If you are having trouble getting it all in, spread some snacks out during the day.

Yes, with only 9 pounds to lose, it will take longer, but it will come. 2 pounds is pretty good, percentage wise!

Thanks Shannon. Your the second person who has told me to eat more. And here i thought i was eating far too much! Old habits die hard i guess

Ill add some chicken to my lunch tomorrow, drop the cheese entirely and make sure i exercise a little harder.

            Thanks for the advice.

"lbs is something and i do feel firmer but its just amazing what a difference there is in weight loss compared to the first and second time with this WOE!

Agreed... remember, based on the book your weight loss is just fine. You can't be put off by numbers from someone like me who has 100 pounds or more to lose. Look at it in relation to your own goals and body. Also make sure to measure, since inches are a good indicator. And finally, muscle weighs more than fat. If you're putting on muscle working out then your scales may not be showing the fat you're losing. That's not a bad thing!

                Thanks again Guys.

I guess my biggest handicap in the weight war is that i want it NOW! Ill start a diet and if i havent seen dramatic results in one week ill change to something else. You name it ,i have tried it.

The other frustration is that I have been there- the holy land- 53kg! and it was magic. I never appreciated it while i was there and now that im not there anymore i do feel a certain amount of panic that ill never make it back!

                Sound stupid?

Im hanging in there cause you guys are the voices of reason, i refuse to listen to my own little voice which is saying " Dump it" Hold thumbs Chaps.

The others have given great advice! I will also add that you mentioned feeling like you were toning up. That is an awesome thing!! You especially will need to eat a little more when exercising. Toning up is just another form of "losing weight." I bet if you would have measured in the beginning, you would be seeing loss of inches right now vs. loss of pounds.

                  Hang in there!!

Also remember that if you are working out a LOT and building muscle, you are not going see the weight loss as much as you will see the inches loss. Muscle does weigh more than fat so don't think of it as a bad thing. You are just toning up!

Re: Weigh in and slightly despondent

Chaps.I dont understand the lack of weight loss- im on day 12 and i have only lost 2 pounds. Yes im exercising and i have toned up, but i havent been pumping iron to create that much muscle! I have done minimum 45 min cardio 5 times a week for the last two weeks and still nothing. i just think im not one of those people that can eat this type of food and still lose weight.

Any tips would be great as would words of encouragement.

You have lost 2lbs, which as I said before is well within the usual amount lost in the first 2 weeks. A rule of thumb is that you will lose approx 10% of your required total weight loss.

Dont get too despondent, everything will be fine. Trust me.

keep saying it Richt and Ill keep believing it. My face does look thinner and i do feel more toned( even though my clothes dont feel any different).
I suppose i should be grateful for small changes. My boyfriend thinks my face is shrinking, and my boss just told me i look foxy today.

2lbs is disappointing but at least its a start.

I love this forum- its a real pick me, up aint it?
