  • Thursday Check-In

    Hah, I get to start the check-in thread this morning . What, are you all asleep? Today is day 7 for me, and I think the induction flu finally has smacked me upside the head. I feel lousy. I went up the stairs this morning but my legs felt like lead doing it. Just took some drugs to help with the headache. My thirst seems to be normalizing, and I'm learning to plan my water consumption a little better so I'm not in the bathroom every 30 minutes. I'll be honest, other than the occasional twinge (yesterday I had a sudden urge for M&Ms) I'm feeling good. I won't put Cheat Free banners in my sig because I do still drink coffee, but otherwise I'm doing great. My big challenge starts tomorrow night. First I have to find dinner in the airport, and then Saturday starts my cruise for a week.

    Good morning! I am glad you are not having the terrible cravings. That is a blessing in itself! And I totally understand about the heavy legs. I just posted that last week I felt like I was walking through knee deep water everywhere I went. But it does get better as we all know, and I came out of my flu over the weekend, which was about 5-6 days into induction. My girlfriend has started this WOL with me here at work and she has the flu now. She has done low carb before and knew what to expect, but when you are going through it, it feels like it will never end! Hang in there just a little while longer!

      Thursday Check-in? it's been a while since I have been around STAC forum, good to see many good posts.

      So I have strayed a bit from this WOE, but I am back again - with the exception that I had coffee today I had to be at work 6am this morning and got off at 9pm last night so I really need some coffee

      So far I Eggs & 2 pieces of bacon for breakfast
      1 Liter of Water
      Working on 1 cup of green tea w/1packet of splenda

      How's everyone else doing? where is everyone at??

      I am starting month #2, lost 12lbs on month #1 even though I cheated a bit

        I'm here! Today starts day 4 for me. Still going strong. Still dreading my daughter's birthday party on Saturday! I've switched from worrying about cheating to just dreading having to cook & clean for it. I hear you on the flu. Last night I went to bed at 9pm. Normally I'm up til @ midnight.

        I think you'll do great on the cruise. You'll be so busy & having such a good time you probably won't want to eat much anyway. Also, nothing makes me want to diet more than having to wear my bathing suit. Lucky you, I wish I was going on a cruise.

        Oh & don't feel to bad... I drink 2 cups of coffee a day (I know, bad Zelda!)

          You guys are doing awesome!!

          I'm floating around. Battling a little bit of the depression-like feelings. Want to hear about that job opportunity I'm waiting on - and things at work are rough in the meantime.

          Sorry guys. Wish I was a little more positive for you this week.

            hey lala! That 12 pounds loss means 3 pounds a week! Who ohoo! I too have coffee daily.. I noticed hubby is fixin it with less and less cream. I'll have to introduce him to whipping cream LOL

              Hey,,,,good to hear from you Sarah, hang in there, you have been such a help and inspiration for me, keep posting in, we need you here start our day off right. I purposefully did not start the thread today, so you would and look at Pstansal taking off and rolling...He is getting himself geared up for "the best cruise of his life!"...
              talk about variety of meats, seafoods and veggies....it will be everywhere and He won't have to fix it...like we will all the time He is gone..

              Hey I am good, I am cleaning closets today, using the energy to clean out our lives...they should all appreciate that when they arrive home and can't find their "favorite something"...ooopps, it's gone, goodbye!

                Dinner at the airport. Can you look online at places to eat? Do you have to eat at the airport? Even a snack of wings would be good at the airport. MMM wings!

                Enjoy the cruise! You will have so much fun. Take a list of veggies you can eat with you so you can mix and match. No need to feel deprived of veggies.

                Musta been twinge day - I said "I want cookies" Hubby looked at me like I was nutz LOLOL It just sounded good to say.

                  Don't most wings have sauce that would be on the bad list? Not sure how that hotsauce is made. It's a good thought though... I do like wings! Hartford is such a rinky dink airport though, the selection is a bit limited . I'm guessing it will be burgers without the bun!

                    Hmm, yes, you're probably right. We had great place here a few years back. WingStop. They fried them and then added the stuff. Parmesan and garlic! My fave! I think I ate there once a week. Haven't found a place to do it that way yet. Most bake with the sauces on them. Hmmm...

                    I brought boudin on the plane with me once. It's like a sausage.. cept you don't eat the skin and the innerds are like rice dressing. Really good. I hate plane food. By the time the plane was high enough that we could move around and I got my boudin.. the entire cabin will filled with the smell LOLOL Nobody wanted to sample.. which was okay by me! Man, I really miss boudin. Hmm.. cauliflower and ground meat... green onions.. seasonings.. I may have to experiment.
