  • Good Sunday Morning, Checking in!

    Hey all STACers...Gooooood morning,
I hope today finds you rested and regrouping from the week and the Saturday hustles...
I am doing great, it's still dark out here on the east coast, I was going to report it is beautiful here, but I dunno.

I am on day 20 of induction. Yesterday I really dug into DANDR, our manual and researched the angles of going from induction to OWL. I guess in the past I read so much in the first 10 chapters, which explain what we have done to our body, why it won't loose weight, and how we can turn that our metabolically, (that knowledge convinced me to go for Atkins)

I was so surprised that I could stay on induction, it could be a choice of mine. Stay where you are and loose faster, eat more carbs and slow down weight loss. Before I just did what I wanted within limited carbs. I also see that I was not litereally staying on a clean induction.

I want to challenge and encourage you to keep refering to the book because after a while I strayed with other "soon to be, but not yet" legal carbs.
YOu can get off the sugars and white stuff, and play around with nuts and berries, but there is a timing to these foods, and I ignored the program earlier.
This time I am playing so by the book...I am heeding all his warnings and the advice of so many successful people here. When some one who has reached goal, or been here 3 yrs, and they pop up in a thread speaking to me, I lean in hard on their words and their suggestions. They have stuck to it. I am sure it wasn't perfect, but they got back up and moved forward.

Morning, Jess! It's HOT already here in Southwest Louisiana!

I agree with reading. I read the book nightly and learn different things. See things differently and see things I never saw before! I never left induction the first time around and then I fell off. So this OWL is all new to me. I'm debating upping my carbs to see what my limit is. I love the flexibility, but I'd also love to hurry and lose the majority of my weight. I'm torn. I love all the new foods. My other option is keeping the lower limit, but reaching up and using foods from berries and nuts to mix things up. I'm loving the veggies.. that is true, but I do need variety. Also, this week was TOM. I learned we should not up our carbs during that week. Hold fast. Something I never would have thought of before!

The support of this board is amazing. Just knowing there are other people out there struggling and learning to overcome their weight. I just don't feel so alone. Recipe swaps are a huge hit with me Friends to support and gain support from. It's all good!

Have a good Sunday. It's church and then the store to refill my pantry and fridge with all things Atkins friendly.

Good morning. I totally agree with you! No matter how many times I've read the book...I apply the information to the phase I am currently on and gain more knowledge of it.

Thanks for posting this as it is important that we keep educating ourselves to get the most out of our new WOE.

Re: Good Sunday Morning, Checking in!

Good morning, STAC ~ i hope everyone is having a good weekend!

I am still sick! I feel like just sleeping & sleeping but as you other mom's know, "mom's can't be sick." So i've dragged myself out of bed this morning & am allowing Luna to watch Berenstein Bears while i check out the boards and try to wake up a bit. My throat really hurts and i've been sucking on sugar-free cough drops. Anyone have any other suggestions of what to do when you feel like poo?

I weighed in this morning and i am down another half pound. So that is 2 pounds down this week. Gosh, i feel like since i am on extended induction i should be losing quicker, but i am just not. Oh well. At least the scales are moving down, even if they are incredibly slow.
