  • 7 weeks!

Tomorrow will be 7 weeks I've started Atkins. I'm down 16 pound! That's a little over 2 pounds a week! Not too shabby considering all of wonderful foods I'm eating!

I failed to take my inches when I first started - was in denial about my true size. I have them now and will watch them for when the scale stops moving.

I'm starving! Hubby is heating up me some egg drop soup - I added canned chicken to it. MMMM.

    Drink up!

Actually, I'm not doing any. I have a lot to lose. We work in the yard, cleaning out our old house from the storm.. so I guess lots of labor? Housework, kids to and from... basic stuff. I do plan on getting into a routine once our lives settle into a routine. I had to get my eating under control to steady the rest of my life. It's been hectic since the hurricane of last year - and we still are not finished!

Rachel, I think it is realistic to add things one by one, outside the diet...Water is probably the most important since you are getting activity and movement...Water is critical to help us move our fat out, keep our metabolism up, keep our liver happy, give us a sense of fullness stuff like that.
Exercise will actually create vibrancy, and is critical, but can be worked towards.
We can only do so much successfully at once...food, water, suppliments and exercise are the 4 legs of this program, adding them carefully is the key...Sounds like you are making wise choices for you...

Thanks Jess. I vowed not to take on more than I can chew! It just seems this hurricane stuff is never gonna end. Now I hear we have one forming and has potential to reach the US. Already I can feel the nervousness. I've already lost everything - what more is there? I'm just starting to rebuild my life - not my house or things - and here we go again. I vow to not let food take over. My sinking feeling in my stomach will only be compounded by icky feelings if I allow myself to cheat. One step at a time. I'm getting weight off and eating under control, getting water.. when it gets cooler and I have more free time I"ll devote it to specific exercise. I'm taking care of me
