    Hello STACers,

One more thought before i go rest for a bit ~ you know one thing that helps me tremendously, in addition to this board, is that i found a wonderful buddy to share the journey with. And that buddy for me is Sarah, as many of you already know. (Woo hoo - give it up for Sarah, folks!)

My thought is this: if you feel that you could benefit from a buddy, then seek one out! There are several spots on ADBB for newbies/mentors or for finding a pal... or just respond to this message and put it out there that you want one! It is sometimes helpful to find someone with similar stats, but i don't think that even really matters so much. It is just nice to have a buddy to help keep you on track, and in turn, you can do the same for him/her.

I think that especially because we are STAC members, we need some extra support at times to keep us on track. Buddies are great that way!

Enjoy the afternoon ~ i am off to try to nap for a bit! You all rock!!!

I wholeheartedly agree. It has been great having Jenna as a buddy. I probably would not still be working towards this way of eating if she wasnt out there rooting me on and pulling me back!

If we can help match people up - just let us know.

Yep, you were there to tell me I was making excuses
And I was right around the corner to tell you to move on to OWL

Plus, I will say that it has been motivating to see Jenna's success. We started out pretty close to the same stats and she has done so great. She has slipped and shown that hey, life is not perfect, but she has also pulled herself back up on the wagon and moved past it. That has really shown me that I'm out making excuses.

OooOooh, here's a thread I can throw out the new quote I found:

"I can have excuses or I can have results. I cannot have both."

Having a buddy is really good. I don't have one particular buddy, but Jasmain and iyamamaschke really helped me out in the beginning. I've since picked up a lot of buddies over in journal chats SweetCher and Sillygirl and 1poundatatime just to name a few...

I will also say that Jess has been great about offering support to everyone since she started! She seems to always be thinking of others. I really feel that the entire STAC crew and lots of other ADBB members are just really awesome in supporting everyone.

I am proud of you two, and you really impact this group. From the time I came on board here, I have watched out for you the most Sarah, but now I see with you so quiet last week that Jenna really rose up, and she nailed it Sunday by calling for us to come out from behind our screen names and commit! That was excellent leadership...So you girls, who tag team, and work together so closely t YOU Truly set the pace on the board...I wanna say to you, "own it"...love out of that place, set the pace out of that place. You both operate with kindness, and understanding. You know what it is to be successful, you know what it is to struggle, you know what it is to fall down, and you both know what it is to get back up and try again...You both post some high numbers of posts and time involved... you have earned my respect. I look for you each day, and I listen to your words, and I step up to your encouragements.

                  Jess

I definitely know the falling down part. I remember the success part. I remember kicking myself when I realized I had lost my success part. I want it back!!!

I'm telling you - Joy's quote above is perfect!!

Wow, Jess ~ that was amazing! Thank you so much - that means a lot to me!!!

I think Joy is right on the money with finding some buddies in the journal chats section, and maybe Jess can comment on that as well, because i know she just joined that area too. I bet it helps a lot to have your own place to go to everyday to post your progress & thoughts, and to share that with others. I'll be joining you there very shortly ~ as soon as i reach my 50 pound goal. That is one of the things i am going to do for myself when i get there!

                              Re: Stack Buddies...

Nothing like a quote that creates the "crossroads" and causes us to decide...Some times when we know we have a choice, we get up and fight for what we want, just because we have the choice. Maybe that was too noisy.
I went to the Journals because this board was pulling deep pondering thoughts out of me, and I did not want to swamp you with my melancoly reflections. In the journals I can ask questions out loud, question myself on the deeper things like, moving to OWL, (I have not decided)...the biggest question was to use the tools like the scale, the book and the keto sticks to learn about my body rather than to abuse and use as a feel good....KKat was my inspiration. But, STAC is home, I come here first every day.
Today I could only watch, I could not post because of unfortunate family dysfunction that broke my heart and rocked my spirit. I went into a tiny bit more depth there, and I popped in this afternoon, and the kindest remarks were awaiting for me.
YOu see we need each other. I am an encourager, and give out of that place, that gift, but my heart can break...then I need the kind words of semi strangers, who want to lift me up...
Truth be told, I come here looking for you girls...and now, I can walk along side just a little bit, but I guarantee you, I will step back and weigh in, after you all take the lead on some of the complex questions...I assume nothing, but I am a fallen dieter, looking to find her way, and share the truth along the way.
Sarah, I feel you coming back, I feel you gathering yourself, keep gathering, keep pulling up, you are so challenged with energy, work, interviews pending, and who knows what ever...But continue to re-establish yourself, keep moving towards induction. I believe in you. Jenna, blow that trumpet girl!
