    Hey STACers...How are we doing today. I am good, just biked very hard. Off to do laundry and eat breakfast. 2 days ago I bought some Keto Sticks, I never hear much about them...they measure the fat we are burning in our urine. My urine turns the stick purple...very purple....I am very please. Had some tiredness and hungeries yesterday, but stayed with in the 20 grams of carbs.

    Any one use the keto sticks? Wonder if they would help on OWL, to see if the veggies effected that take you out of lipolosis. I am going to read the book on sticks to day and report back!!!

    I don't use the keto sticks, because I am a cheapskate. I am happy so far 4lbs in 3 days. BUT I know it is mainly water weight AND this is the danger day for me- every time I lose three lbs I say "I'm ok, I'm doing it," and fall off. (and then there are 5 lbs back on) But today, I posted on ADBB and I am not going to fall or jump off. SO, FRIDAY's CHECK IN will be even MORE important!

      Morning STACers!!

      Go Jess on the bike!!! I've never tried the keto strips. For the most part, I have used the scale and the fit of my clothes. Though I did measure *once* last year. I thought I had previously read that they can sometimes be unreliable. For instance, not turning the color you want, but you are still in ketosis. So just don't let it get you down if they change colors on you. You are doing awesome!!

      I'm doing good today. I'm psyched to get out of here and find out if my future holds a position as a judicial clerk at the Court. Keep your fingers crossed for me. I leave here about 11:45 a.m.

      Yesterday was a busy day. I had to go to a couple of different stores to find a nice top to wear on my 2nd interview today. (We won't even talk about the darn size issues!!) So I got some exercise in running from store to store before they closed last night. Then came home - did the dishes, some laundry and vacuumed three levels of the house, bathed the child, etc. Busy night.

        Sarah, way to go, I can hear that momentum building again. I say prayers, so i will bring for a very favorable interview...doors to open and your future to be bright! All that activity sounds like you are coming thorugh the fatigue you struggled with so much.

          Morning all...

          Sarah ~ I'm sending you positive thoughts, prayers, white light... i'm throwing it ALL at you!!! Can't wait to hear all about it! Please check in with us ASAP!!!

          I'm doing okay today... still feeling crappy with the TOM, however, the cold looks like it is gone! So that is good. I'm very hungry this morning & i am cooking a yummy mock danish, and i had some olives too.

          Today is treadmill day ~ and i'll be heading downstairs to do that in an hour. I am really hoping this 1.5 will be off this week... i check in again on Sunday... wish me luck!!!

            Today is great so far. Check out my other post (4 weeks completed).

            Outback - I am addicted to the keto strips (hey better than cookies and cake). Anywho, I have started OWL (as you know) and I am thinking that they will probably help with keeping me on track. I have been in ketosis for the past four weeks and if I get knocked out I will be pretty sure it is because of whatever food I have added.

            I have heard that the strips may not work for all people and if you are not drinking enough fluids than they may show pink or purple after eating a fatty meal even if you are not in ketosis. I don't think this is the case with me though because I drink over four litres of fluid a day. Also, I think first thing in the morning they are most reliable.

            P.S. As always, I will add that others are more experienced than me and may have better info.

              Well, Jenna what does your body traditionally do with TOM water retention? I hold water alot before TOM and then about 3 days post, I have a huge weight loss....or so it would seem, it's probably weightloss under the water retention and not as much as it seems...So for me, this Sat. weigh in should be held with caution...My daughter has just finished her TOM, and her weight loss should be held with caution too, considering we don't know what he body will do with the retention....

              That 1.5 is coming off, because the other 48.5 did...I know it is a milestone and an exciting one....hold it loosely you are gonna blow past it shortly and be shooting for that next 10 that'll make it 60lb loss...
              This morning at my blog site, I told my people who are doing the Oct 31 challenge with me. Most of them are relatively ok and just overweight, nothing like obsese. Like me. I said, why set out sights on Oct 31? Let's go for Dec.31...Let's finish the year strong....Mean we are gonna be too fit to quit! My enthusiasm might not surprise my regular folk, but why NOT go for it.

                I'm sure that i am retaining water... and that i'll dump it when this is over (when WILL this TOM be over???) Seems like it is going along for ever & and it isn't cool that i am having 2 TOMS a month now. I guess i best go to the doctor soon & figure out what is going on with my body. I weigh in on Sunday morning, and i am hoping this will be long gone by then... i am just impatient, and i need to remember to have patience...

                  Today is pretty good for me too. I ate some of what I called Cabbage Casserole. It's really filling. Next time I'll have to write down how big a serving is - 1/2 c, 3 cups, etc. The recipe just says the amount of servings. ack! When I eat the leftovers I need to know how much a serving is. I just fixed a small bowl and had a salad and cukes. I'm stuffed.

                  Leftover pork chops.. and I think I'll do some roasted cauliflower. MMM Sounds heavenly!

                  The past few days I was getting all my carbs in, but all whacked out ways and I wasn't eating good meals. Snacking all around and scrounging on the meals.. I do not like that. Gimme a meal and let me be full. Grazing is not good, even with low carbs.

                  Time to refill the water!

                      Ok, update time. I went in for the second interview. And it was just that-a second interview. I guess I am in the top 6 being considered for the position. I feel like it went really well too. So I'm still keeping my fingers crossed and focusing on the positive. Top 6 isn't bad and actually, I was top 3 of the Judge's picks. So that is a very good thing. The Judge plans to make his decision by the end of the day tomorrow and we should find out next week. More waiting.....

                            Thanks gals!! I want this soooooo bad. I'm really trying to sell myself. They are on tight schedules so you don't get a lot of time w/them (though today, she did spend about 30 minutes with me). I cannot wait to hear back!

                            I hope everyone is having a great night. I'm going strong food wise, but feeling a little down about the "grand picture." I have a lot to lose and its a never ending battle. As you know, I've been worried about Labor Day. Well DH doesn't think we will have enough room for a cooler and says its just one weekend and that one weekend is not what caused my problem. So I think what I will have to do is just be very selective. I know they will have a protein at dinner. Lunch meat at lunch. So I'm thinking of taking the low carb wraps for a "sandwich" and as much as I don't want to, some low carb bars for breakfast. Veggies I'll just have to work with what they have.

                              Well, you have to work with what you've got. Build all the momentum you can between this week and next weekend...Nothing is solved in a week, but to know you have your head in a positive healthy space will make it easier to work around foods...and I still think, going outside and separating yourself and having a focus time might be good.
                              But that's me. I would need to get my head totally together. Real life is mingling around real people and all their foods.
                              Today I had to shop for food...It's like a science right now...My low carb hi protein foods, my husband needs high carbs and my daughter needs low fat. My poor husband has been living off less carbs for 3 plus weeks...He needs his pasta! He needs his breads...He weights 150, He burns everything up and is a selective eater. My daughter and i look at his food, and gain weight, up until 24 days ago.
