Well, I survived! And other than a handful of nuts one night (and my coffee) I did not cheat. It was INCREDIBLY difficult. You are constantly surrounded with booze, chocolate, and bread. And while finding meat wasn't an issue, finding veggies other than salad was. I had a lot of salad... a whole lot of salad. Most of the veggies were either in sauces I could not eat or mixed in combos I could not have. I also was a little hesitant on some of the marinades in the meat or whatever. You should have seen the carver's face when I asked for the skin from the turkey. He tried to give me the whole thing! So my ratios were likely out of whack but I was still way down on the carbs.
I did start excercising, and managed to do it twice a day for an hour or so. I liked the feature that would adjust itself based on your target heartrate. I stayed in the fat burn modes, and even though I was tired I wasn't worn to a frazzle. I wish I could have taken the machines with me! My broken toe still hurts like a *****, but I just sucked it up and moved on.
So... how did I do. I can't be entirely accurate because my freaking scale at home died somehow when I was on the cruise. Based on the scale on the boat however I....
LOST 10.5 more pounds!
So, tomorrow is Day 15 with me. Obviously my weight is going to be slightly off, but I had lost as of Wednesday evening 23.5 pounds for my induction. I admit, it's an insane amount for 2 weeks and obviously I can't keep it up anywhere near that rate. But it's an excellent start.
So... where now? I'm staying low with my carbs, but looking to expand the menu a bit. For instance nuts. An ounce of almonds is a real treat for me. I'll stay right around there for the time being, and start working on an excercise plan I can keep at home. 23.5 pounds down, a lot to go!
