  • Ok I'm starting for the last time..AGAIN

Oh what months it has been. I thought I was on my way in May HA. I have fallen severly off the track and I need your . Dealing with the ankle pain (which was supposed to be gone after these surgeries) and realizing I might have to live with the pain has been terrible.

But hey....it could be worse right! So I'm vowing to start a clean induction TODAY. Check this board (umm over 50K messages since last login...definatly gone too long ) many many times a day. POST many many times a day.

That's it I think...I'm glad to be back and part of the team. Thanks all.

Welcome back! You can do this!!

Rachel has mentioned in her posts that she started out slowly this time. Focusing on what important step at a time. Maybe that would work for you? I have taken her lead and it seems to be helping me. Maybe for the fourteen days you should focus primarily on eating induction friendly foods and drinking plenty of water. Then for the following week add in small intervals of walking - or water aerobics so as not to cause a lot of pain in your ankle, etc.

Another important thing that has helped me is to pre-plan. I try to come up w/some meal plans for the week and keep some pre-cooked items in the fridge so that I don't get over hungry.

    Good luck!!

Are you doing therapies for your ankle? Think about how less weight will reduce the stress on your ankle! I am hoping that less weight will help my knees- but it is a bummer that I can't run like I used to for exercise. I can swim and walk- and I mainly do walk videos for that, since it is in my carpeted house... 2big once had some sort of surgery on her legs and spent time on her upper body. She would be a good one to ask for advice.

Welcome back! Sorry to hear about your ankle trouble, you kind of need those to move around so I can imagine your frustration. I'm sure you felt like an unstoppable ball player that got benched at the height of your season. You know Atkins works, which is why you are here, and why all of us STACRs are here. A lot of us have had a devastating weight gain after falling off the wagon. We just have to turn it into a learning experience. You'll be a lot stronger this time around. I'm on day 11 of induction and I can't believe how much better I feel already, so just stick with us. This board has helped me through some difficult days already, and will help you too.

Re: Ok I'm starting for the last time..AGAIN

OH Thanks to everyone!! I"m such an active person and the ankle trouble has been.....a terrible mental game for me. But.....I"M BACK BABY!!!

I often think of how much easier it would be on the ankle with less wiehgt.....but that in itself never really did the job mentally. I think part of it is...I"m an all or nothing person. I need to eat correctly...exercise...I need the package...I could never do one without the other.

I found last week I could bike ride with tolerable pain, so....the mt. bike is in the shop getting a tune up...found some nice trails to ride on....and made plans to do it a few times a week.

I think it will be fine.....cause I've learned....patience. Today is the first day of the rest of my life.
