  • Slooooow induction

I posted my bio in the introduce yourself forum so will keep it brief here (hopefully). I lost 70 pounds on atkins 3 years ago. Then was diagnosed with breast cancer. During chemo i gained 30 of it back. And gained another 30 since. Chemo put me into early menopause. I started induction a week ago and have yet to lose anything. I've had no cheats. My menu is basic:

breakfast: 2 eggs, 2 sausage (or a mock danish)
lunch: salad with romaine lettuce (sometimes with some bacon bits,
    sometimes with some tuna)
dinner: hamburger patty (or other meat) and a tomato or zucchini etc
snack: 2 oz of cream cheese or a few strips of bell pepper with ranch dressing

and alot of water (and am working on increasing it)

I know the second time around can be slower and menopause can also slow things down. I would like to hear from others who have started off slowly. I feel great and not in danger of throwing in the towel so far. But any advice and encouragment is appreciated and I take alot of strength from others success stories. And look forward to becoming one

I'd try and work in some more fat. What are your percentages like when you put it into fit day?

It's possible you might need to fall into the 70% or higher group to get into ketosis. For that matter, are you sure you aren't? Did you take measurements to compare inches?

measurements?...ummmm...well.....no.. *hanging head*..the scale was bad enough. But will take them today *big sigh*. Hopefully in a week if the scale hasnt moved the measuring tape will. Thanks for the nudge.

I agree, I"m not seeing any fat in there. Fat is good for you - the right kinds! Also, make sure you are measuring your foods - salads, tomatoe, bell pepper strips. You may not be getting ENOUGH food. Your body may be in starvation mode.

              Best of luck.
