  • You need to be on your guard! (well I do).

I have been following the Atkins WOL now for over 2.5 years, and in that time only cheated once, and that was a month after starting.

In the last 2 years and 5 months, I have not had any real chocolate (when I say real chocolate, I mean I have had the occasional low carb bar, I just havent had the regular bars which are packed full of sugar).

Anyway, last night I was walking home, I popped into my local corner shop for something Atkins legal to eat, I settled for a couple of baby bel cheeses. When I was queueing up to pay, I saw a jumbo sizes mint aero (chocolate bar, just incase its an English thing). I thought how nice it would be to have it etc etc. Anyway, I didnt bother as I didnt want to ruin all the good work that I have done.

But it could have been so easy!!!!!!! You really need to be on your guard, those moments could easily sway me from my new healty lifestyle.

Thanks for reading and please excuse my ramblings.

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

Ramble all ya want! I agree... I have a yellow cake with chocolate icing sitting in my kitchen. I could easily go eat a piece, steal a bite... who is gonna know????

I will. And I do not want to undo all the work I have done. It's just not worth it. When I cut hubby a piece, I licked the fork - sure don't taste like I use to remember. It makes me realize I'm really not missing anything. If I get a craving I make it something legal. I miss more the feeling the food gave than the taste of it. Weird.

CONGRATUALTIONS! I love to hear things like this! You have realized it is not the food, nor the taste.......... only a feeling! Hug your kids! Hug your Hubby! Hug your dog/cat!! Feels better then our so called old friend "bad" food choices.

Yeah for you Rich!! Everywhere I look I see things that would taste great, but I choose not to. My weight loss is much more important to me than the 5 seconds of taste that I would get if I ate them. (not to mention the cravings that would follow, the few pounds that would follow and the disappointment I would feel in myself)

And look at the progress you've made with the self-discipline you've developed! Whooopppeeee!!!

No one could serve as a better example than I of where that first bite can lead. Listen to Rich, people. JUST DON'T DO IT!

              Great job passing it up!!!

I feel sad to admit that when I am faced with moments like that -its almost as if my mind blocks out those resistant thoughts. I feel like I'm walking around with my fingers in my ears going "la, la, la, I cannot hear you, I won't hear you, I'm buying this chocolate bar, leave me alone." Its almost like I black out until the purchase and eating of the produce is complete. Its really gross that I can be so food obsessed that this happens. I cannot wait for the day that I can face that temptation as you have!
