  • 2nd (and 3rd) time around is much slower

Tomorrow is weigh day for me, which will be the end of the third week. Unless I have a big whoosh, tonight, I will still be down only 7 pounds.

I've been just as strict with myself as I was the first time on induction, but the weightloss is nothing like it was then. I think the body "learns," takes evasive action, and says, "oh, yeah, I remember this. I'll show him!"

So be it. I'll be the one showing him, in the long run -- however long that may be!

Still Chris, 7lbs in 3 weeks isnt bad. But as you so rightly said, you are in it for the long haul.

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

There is one other thing that I've noticed about this time around that's different than the first. I've had no sweet cravings -- none! Maybe that's something else my body learned from the past. It ain't gonna get any so there's no need to cry for 'em!

        I love it, Chris! LOL

I didn't lose quite as much my second time around as I did the first. But, I'll tell ya what...I am doing a MUCH, MUCH better job of doing it RIGHT this time and ultimately I'm having much, much better results.

I hope that's a consulation to you! Bring what you learned the first time around, bring what you didn't learn the first time around but know it now, and use it to your advantage.

I agree with Joy, I am doing it cleaner, straighter, better this time, I know what tripped me up, and i when to cross the street and stay far away from that other sidewalk. What you have been through can also make you wiser this time, smarter and far more aware of what NOT to do. Experience counts towards the good for those in it for the long haul

Yes, my go around this time has been slower than the first. But right now I will take what I can get - and atleast the scale won't be moving up.

My induction may or may not have been less. I'm not sure of my exact weight when I started. I was in denial. I also didnt do a strict induction. I have noticed it is coming off at a good rate. Maybe because I still have a ways to go? Going on OWL has made all the difference in the world. I mean, when I think about it... basically it's what I ate before: Proteins, cheeses, veggies, nuts, dairy, fruits.. maybe a few things different here and there.. but really it's all there. I did take out all the sugars and flours. And look what I'm left with? WEIGHT LOSS. I'm happy. And people say we starve and eat nothing but eggs and bacon. Uhm.. yah. Okay.

I think that just as important as it is to know the body will fight harder against losing weight each time one tries to do it, is to know that the more times one tries to lose and then quits, the faster the body tries to regain what was lost.

Of couse, also to add to this, your body uses less fuel, therefore loses more slowly,
                * the less toned muscle you have
                * the older you are, and
                * the less your current weight
