    Hey friends,
    I realize this is an older post, so thanks for your patience in the redundancy. However, I must tell you about my progress. It is my intention to check into ADBB every day, but this has been an unusual week at work, super busy. Fiscal year ends at the end of the month, yada yada.

    Okay, thanks so much for all of your words of encouragement. I re-read the book. I read every single page including the maintenance phase (wow, that will be nice). Then, I got a massage last Friday. I had never had one before. Wow. Now, that was nice. It was something so totally for me.

    Remember, I am my new best friend now and I really want to treat myself right. It is not a friendship that I want to lose.

    Then, after reading the book and getting the massage, I jumed on the bandwagon. Strict induction, my friends. The Atkins Induction, not the Shannon Induction that I am so fond of.

    I started Tuesday morning. (Why start on Labor Day, ha.) It has been Five Days and I have been perfect!! I mean, perfect. I had forgotten how good it feels. I have so much energy. NO CRAVINGS for carbs. I woke up craving a meatball. (homemade, no bread crumbs) and I thought, why not?? Two meat balls for breakfast. Hee. Hee. I know Boonie Stomper, no veggies in there but it is early still.

    So, anyway, the main thing to report is that I have taken off SIX POUNDS! I haven't seen results in so long that it is so amazing. I am just beside myself. This WOE really works. Thanks so much for your encouragement. But for you all, I would be struggling along...

    1st goal: 139 (earlier weight)
    what the rungs mean to me:
    rung 1 - more veggies
    rung 2 - dairy (some milk in coffee)
    rung 3 - seeds, nuts (mostly sprinkled on salads)
    rung 4 - berries, melon
    rung 5 - wine -
    rung 6 - beans, hummus
    rung 7 - other fruits
    rung 8 - carrots/ potatoes (nah, prolly not)
    rung 9 - whole grains (fresh Dutch breads...)
    Major Goal - 128 lbs/ healthy range
    (on to pre-maintenance)

      Shannon, I'm so glad you are off the Shannons version of Atkins and back on Atkins! See, when you work the plan, it works for you. I'm so happy for you!

        Thanks, Joy. I am more excited than I have ever been about this. I am just remembering that awesome energetic feeling, which Terry was telling is worth the way of eating all by itself. She is right! The weight loss really helps, too.

              You aren't alone in your realizations Shannon, I figured out doing it "my way" was only going to lead to much grief.

              WEIGH TO GO!

              Now, slap me with some of that motivation so I too can be strong and stay clean!

                Oh yeah, Jassy, we can do this. It feels great to be doing it the right way. I just have to be so careful. I have to truly think about every single thing that goes in my mouth or I will slip up. The things that throw me off are usually things that are okay on the higher rungs, but I have to remind myself that I am not there yet anymore!
