  • Well, what are your weekend plans

Well, the big weekend is approaching, are you all plotting and planning to protect your inductions, your clean eating, your cheat free days. Are you going away and have you thought out your challenges. What are you going to do with the extra time, have you planned some healthy activity, different work outs.
We need to keep on our toes to protect our successes. Cheating is not acceptable, and you be avoided, and with good planning you can do it. Don't take it for granted you will be just fine! One of my most favorite stories this month is when pstansel, Paul came back from the cruise and he had stayed clean, watching other people abuse food...on a boat! I admire that. Or how about Jenna who just crossed the 50 pound barrier who wore size 16 jeans last night to a shower at her house!!!!..I hope I am getting strong enough to handle myself that way, and if NOT, I should not put myself in any position I cannot handle.
Be agressive, take your own food places this holiday. Eat in the car ahead of time, carry snacks...Be agressive, this is your new life you are fighting for! Most of us are addicts! WE are helpless in certain circumstances and should avoid them at all cost! Ok got that off my chest.

My best idea is to host a giant BBQ at my place. Then there will be no tempting foods around.

What a difference a week makes. It was last weekend I freaked about, and I made it through. I am fearless for this weekend. I have a bbq to attend, but we were told to bring a dish. I'll make it low carb, and tell uncle Bill to hold the bbq sauce! I actually lucked out on this weekends festivities good luck to all. Stay on the wagon folks!

I love the part of not to put yourself in situations you cannot handle. That really hit home. We opted to not attend a party at a mexican place just a few weeks after I was into Atkins. It was so hard. We were expected to be there. I'm sure we were missed, but you know, I"m doing this for ME. I have to decide what I can and cannot handle. I knew I could not handle that. So, I took the road that was best for me. I weighed out eating before going but that would have been too obvious. I mean.. it IS a place to eat. I just didn't think I could handle the pressure so I stayed home. I'm glad I did.

Sounds like everyone has a good weekend planned out! We're not doing much here, just hanging around. Husband has gigs this weekend so he'll be busy, but we're looking forward to hanging out on Monday since he has off from work.

I need to get back on track with exercise... can you believe i have slacked off two days in a row??? That isn't like me at all... you all need to whip me back into gear!!! I'm doing good with OWL though. Still on the veggies rung.

I'm hoping it won't be too quiet around STAC this weekend... i'll be bored and want to chat!

Re: Well, what are your weekend plans

Hey I will be around all weekend too. Not going anywhere...
Rachel, way to go, not going where you cannot handle it. There would be more successes around here if people paid attention to what they can and cannot handle in th early days. I have yet to step into a resturant. We usually ate out every sunday, we have not stepped one foot in a resturant. I could do it now, no problem. I have been to one birthday party, and ate in the car on the way...I have been to a pot luck dinner, with close friends, and I brought a whole chicken...and ate a wing, thigh and drumstick, while they feast on chips and fruit and bbq... I never looked up or thought about it...
It's gonna be like this beacuse of our addictions. I have read all sorts of people's fears to being exposed, because they know themselves! Makes great sense, to go in knowing your love for food. Have a plan, have a plan. Like Jenna said in her thread, "BE MINDFUL", BE AWARE, BE PRESENT"...

Re: Well, what are your weekend plans

hubby and I were talking the other day about the major cut down on our fast food consumption. Granted, we really did not have fast food often. I usually treated the kids on the weekend while we were out shopping/errands. That was it! I think we have picked up food once in 7 weeks.. haha.. so, we are really saving all around

It was so hard to skip the party - mostly because it was family and they really wanted us to go. But.. sorry.. I was sick (sick of carbs!) hahaha
