  • People, it's Saturday! Rise and shine!

Forgive me. I have been up since 4 am and finally decided to get out of the bed. After poking around and deciding the family would not like me to start cooking or doing laundry at 5 am.. i made my way to the computer. Gotta love ketosis. I don't require as much sleep, and wake up raring to go.

I'm hoping to get a good bit of water in now while i'm still home before I get out to run errands. My goal each weekend is to get that water in.

Time to surf the internet. Have a good Saturday, everyone.

Well, good morning Rachel, I made it til 7, but I am up too. Sorta have a head ache. But, that will subside, I am down a pound, and should be coming to the end of the TOM.
I am very excited because my daughter is going to give atkins a try for 2 weeks. She started gaining weight on WW. Afte 32 days, she has only lost 3 pounds and lives in continual hunger. We realized this was not the diet for her...So, she is going to follow me. This is a big moment in her life, and I believe her light bulb is going to turn on, after she gets over the induction flu period...

Congrats to your daughter for deciding to go with Atkins. My oldest followed it for a few months, dropped the weight and has kept it off. She doesn't follow as strict as before, but she knows what to do if she wants to drop a few. Wish I had been that smart at such a young age. Both my girls prefer faux taters to real mashed potatoes. Go figure! Following Atkins has helped the family as a whole. A few yrs ago I stopped buying cokes. they complained for a few days and now don't mind. The other day we were shopping and I asked if they wanted snack cakes. My son looks at me and says "Mom, we really don't need those. they are just sugar globs." WHOA! I praised him and we moved on. YESSS! Hopefully I will engrain in their heads that processed foods are not the best choice. Now, if they will just leave me alone for getting organic foods when possible LOL

Keep us posted on your daughters results. Tell her I said she has made a wise decision!

Happy Saturday all ~ i am up pretty early over here (7:30am on the Pacific) because my best friend from NJ called me to chat... Well, it's good for me to be up anyway.

Jess ~ very cool that your daughter is giving this a try! Keep us posted - i am anxious to hear how it works out for her.

Rachel ~ that is awesome that your son turned down the "sugar globs!" I love it!!!

My wife and kids dragged me off for a 2 hour letterboxing adventure. If you've never done letterboxing it's a great way to get kids out and enjoying walks. See more info here:

              http://www.letterboxing.org/

My 4 year old will do 2+ mile walks because he wants to get the stamps. In our area there are hundreds of them to try! Anyway, on the way home we stopped for a snack at the local bakery and along with my decaf coffee I had a small triangle of diabetic sugar free chocolate made with malitol. It was the first chocolate (or really anything sweet) that I've had since I started induction 3 weeks ago, and frankly it was so sweet I found I had no taste for it. Weird aftertaste too.

Good morning, feeling good, I'm drinking decaf coffe with heavy cream and splenda right now, I'm hoping this is ok for induction. I'm on day 28 today, doing great as far as eating the right things. Not doing well on exercise. I JUST began exercise last night. Did a 30 minute workout at home. I KNOW this will get the scale to be more cooperative! I love this board, I try to go daily, just reading all your posts are very helpful to me.
