      Re: Ahhh

It's not a race, it's a lifestyle change. There is no "end" to this. You will eat differently for the rest of your life, or you will fail. You just have to decide that your life and health are worth more than the cheap thrills that carbs give you. Once you reach that point, it is frankly fairly easy. So, WHY did you cheat? Not what did you cheat with, when did you cheat, etc; WHY. That's the question you can only answer for yourself.

        Re: Ahhh

Paul is right! You have to answer the question and then you can move on.

Why did you cheat? I would bet it has nothing to do with laziness, nor how strong you are.
There is always a reason and in order to be a success you have to dig deep sometimes to find the reason. Or....... is it just you do not want it bad enough? You have to want it, really want it.
What were you feeling before you cheated? Another thing is what had you eaten prior to the cheat? You know, sometimes it is something you are doing that you are not even aware of. Some foods are trigger foods for some of us. Diet pop is a HUGE trigger for me. Think it through, and write down everything you can remember prior to a cheat. Keep a journal/diary. The answer may end up to be right there and something very simple. Once you figure it out, and I know you can, then you can have a plan to avoid it and how to deal with it when it happens again. Every cheat you can avoid makes the next temptation that much easier to get through.

Hey Bee, Get up dust yourself off, keep moving forward, don't get pissed and keep eating. Stop, you made a big step in admitting it. I would agree with Paul and Bren, girl you have to do the homework on yourself. You can do it. You have to make this the biggest deal in your life, at this point it cannot afford to be an "add on" where you "sorta do it"...It works if you work it 100%, leaving nothing to caution.
This is a tough walk, but YOU are worth it, girl, you are worth it... Now get up and gather yourself together and plan for the strongest day ever tomorrow, and give yourself time to follow the leads Bren gave you...

            Re: Ahhh

i guess i really need to recognize the fact that I'm still coming back to this board, whereas I used to get discouraged after the first cheat and quit the diet altogether. So I AM making progresses...even with my cheats...

thanks for the advice. Day 1 again tomorrow!

              Re: Ahhh

Write down 'what happened' the last few times you've tried that made you jeopardize yourself. Then...you can make a plan for what you will do to overcome those things...for instance, when I first started, I found that I always got hungry between lunch and dinner. I made ziplock baggies filled with celery, green peppers, chunks of chicken or other meat, cubed cheese and kept in the door of the frig. When hunger struck, I reached for my snack packs. If I was going somewhere that I knew was going to be tempting food...I took along an acceptable food for myself. Having emergency plans ready before the temptation hits will keep you on track. You are doing this for YOU. You have to be prepared and willing to make sacrifices. Giving yourself pep-talks every morning and laying ground rules will help. Put notes on the bathroom mirror, in the kitchen, in your purse, in the car...wherever the temptation strikes will help.

The ADBB is a great place to come when you are feeling like you need motivation. Look at the before/after photos and read the stories of the ones who made it happen. You can make it happen too. You can do this.

Dedication gives wings to our dreams and keeps them in flight! In One Word...COMMITTMENT.
