  • The withdrawal pangs are agonizing!

But, they're not from Atkins, or even my (so far, successful) attempts to quit smoking. They're from having to send my laptop in for a warranty repair last Friday!!! I couldn't get on ADBB throughout the entire three day weekend, and that's only one place out of many!

At times, I thought I might pass out!!

lol you remind me of my DH. He's never not on the computer unless he's sleeping or in the shower. Its a disease, I swear! Anyway his IPOD broke last friday and he's been so miserable without it lol. If his laptop broke I think he'd go into shock

Re: The withdrawal pangs are agonizing!

Thanks, Joy! Thursday will mark the end of the fourth week back on Atkins. That's "weigh day," so, if my weight doesn't change from now, I will have lost 9 pounds.

My last cigarette was on Friday, August 25 -- just a little over a week ago.

I'll be honest, I don't think I'm in any danger of falling off the wagon with the Atkins; however, although I've tried many times in the past to quit smoking, I was never successful -- so, I'm not making anyone any promises. It's gone pretty well, this time, though -- better than it ever has, so I'm feeling a bit more confident than I have in the past.

It really is amazing how many times I went looking for my PC this weekend. I find that I refer to it, for one thing or another, countless times during the day. When I'd realize it wasn't there, I almost felt like I'd lost a loved one!

Re: The withdrawal pangs are agonizing!

Just keep taking your smoking quit one day at a time. You'll do fine. You're pretty much past the worst part now. Just remember that if you never take another puff, you'll be fine. It's that whole Kiss of Death thing that holds true for smoking and carbohydrates....really anything for an addict. You certainly know how it goes.

I gained a little when I quit smoking...so if you don't lose as much as you thought you might by reinducting, it could be due to quitting the cigarettes. Being quit of both will far outweigh the slower loss.
