  • hungry all day!

What is wrong with me today? I have been hungry all day - totally legal, but man, just hungry every time I turn around. Like I hadn't eaten all day kinda hungry.

The last time I did Atkins I got a whoosh after a day like this - as long as I stayed legal, of course! Hoping it happens again too.

I'm off to cook my Korean meatballs and tally my carbs so I can plan supper around that. ack!

HURRY WHOOSHIE. I've been playing with these same 2 pounds for 2 weeks now! I wanna see them gone.

    Re: hungry all day!

if you are truely hungry eat cause if you don't your body will release the sugar stores as you blood sugar drops and this in turn will raise the insulin levels which will store your fats and lower the blood sugars even more creating a vicious circle you don't want.

Check the ingredidants in your food and your fats levels and see if maybe you got hold of something with a new ingredient in it that os triggering you today.

Also make sure you drink too cause thirst control and hunger controll centers in the brain are side by side and spillover can occur making you think you are hungry when you are really thristy.

I get like that on some days too, Rachel! Usually on days that i have a really good workout. Just keep eating legal, and you'll do fine! Listen to your body...

I usually drink more water when I feel hungry. I have found that sometimes we mistake being thristy for being hungry. Plus I google'ed it.

          Re: hungry all day!

Thanks guys! I ended up drinking all my water by 3 p.m... and drank even more water last night Felt pretty good. I ate meatballs yesterday and was full. Had to really work at getting that salad down around 7 to be sure and have all my veggies in! Always tweaking - still trying to get veggies in with breakfast. Need to get more in with lunch. Need better planning. Work has been crazy so I don't have a set lunch time and it needs to be really quick when I am able to grab it. We are going through the cucumbers like crazy around here. and tomatoes. MMMM My youngest loves the cukes I love seeing fresh fruits and veggies in abundance in the house. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy as a mom knowing I'm doing something good for my kids.

Here is the one I used.. though I didn't cook the sauce..oopps! I musta left that page on the printer LOL The sauce is wonderful and I cannot wait to use it for stirfry! The meat.. well.. I guess I"m just use to a little more flavor. Just tasted like cooked ground meat to me. I'll have to doctor it up, as my husband says. Not that they won't get eaten LOL I think the next time I"ll make the ones on Sheila's web site and use the sauce from this one.

Rachel, I found myself in the same situation where my appetite had waned so much that I had a hard time getting all my veggies in. I started eating my veggies FIRST! Once I had gotten my cup of veggies in, then I could have the meat/eggs/etc.

                That seemed to help.

                  Re: hungry all day!

To make it easier to get in your veggies, try cooking them (after measuring uncooked salad veggies, of course). Lettuce isn't your best choice anyway.

Try making basic all-veggie stir frys with olive oil &/or butter, then use portions of it over several meals in the next 2-3 days, adding different meats, &/or altering flavors in portions with additional herbs & spices & garnishes, or even more veggies not in the original fry. I often barely cook the 1st fry so additional cooking & additions on day 2 or 3 are possible without over cooking.

Examples of great stir fry salad veggies include bok choy, celery, chives, fennel, jicama, mushrooms, parsley, radicchio, radishes...of course there are a variety of different types of mushrooms and radishes, with different flavors. The original stirfry can be a combo with the other veggies list choices, for an almost unimited range of possibilities. Finer textures make for additional uses, such as salsa, dips, sauces and gravies.

I can add stir fry (with or without meat or cheese) to my eggs - now it's a breakfast omelet. Fry a cut of meat or fish & add some stirfry to the skillet halfway through, and have for lunch or dinner.

If you make an especially large batch, try filling an ice cube tray & freeze. Label a ziplock for each type of stirfry cubes and store a variety collection.

so inquiring minds want to know did you get your pounds lost you thought you might?

you can add some oif your veggies to your meat balls and to your sauce too.

and remember if you are not hungry don't eat even if you still got carbs in the budget for the day. one day low will not kill you.

yeah, as 2big said, don't eat just because you've got leftover in the carb budget. I always wanted to make sure I got my veggies in for the FIBER.

                        Re: hungry all day!

Eating when not hungry - I was lacking veggies and yes, need to get those in first and get them out of the way. Will try that. I don't eat when not hungry, but I know those veggies are so important. I really want a balance of a little from every thing.

I'm still between 20-25 carbs in a day even though I've done the nuts, berries and dairy rungs. Sometimes I go up to 30, not often. My dairy really consists of the induction limits of 4 oz a day... I haven't added more.. and the nuts I have 1/4 c, which according to the bag is only 2 carbs, and berries.. well.. I eat those no problem LOL

Thanks for the suggestions! It's great to have a place to turn when you need help.

Did I lose? Not this morning according to the scale. But, I was on the lower end of the bobbing numbers.. so maybe soon. I did lose 3 inches in the last 2 weeks? I'd have to look at the dates.

I'm not as hungry today... I did finish off the meatballs. I saw a lil nibbler had some late last night (oldest child) LOL Will have to make some more. I really prefer those than the store bought - they taste too much like fillers. ICK! I like the meat taste.
