  • STAC and working out

Well, it is my 2nd time around and I am just starting to workout, just wanted to get other members take on workouts. Some LC sites say nope to workouts, swear that with LC you can't workout, your weight loss won't be as good...other sites say yes to workouts. I do enjoy to workout, its jut getting my rear in gear, just wondering what other in the STAC think, what do you all do for workouts? TIA

    Re: STAC and working out

I go walking with my Mother quite often. We usually walk for an hour or so and that is about three miles for us. On days when I don't get together with her, I try to get on my treadmill. For awhile, I was doing a very intense work out walk/run type thing and had actually worked up to jogging thirty minutes straight, which was an incredible accomplishment. One day, I would like to do that again!

I am not sure about what the others around here will say, but I suspect that most will agree with me. Exercise is NOT NEGOTIABLE. You must, must, must exercise for results. I am glad that you enjoy it because I really believe that if you do not exercise, the results just are not the same.

    Happy work out, my friend.

Agreed. I don't know what site tells you to not workout but they are crazy. Workout as often as you want! ADBB has several challenges that you can sign up for and work on. Let me encourage that you do that. You would be silly to not work out and burn the energy (which is stored in the fat which is what you want to lose).

Sophie, Welcome to STAC, in the DANDR book, which we all recommend that you read, exercise is nonnegotiable...I would encourage you to find the most non weight baring type exercise...I use a stationary bike. some people do the eliptcal trainer, others swim.
        Start out slow, and careful.
        Others will be posting too...
It is hard at first, but soon you start to feel the rewards of those endorphins...

You know, I am a biker, as in stationary bike, in front of the tv with the fan on...and I mow alot of grass down here in Georgia it grows very fast...But yesterday we went to a park and walked a huge jogging trail, and I can barely walk this evening, my ankles are stiff, and my shins are a bit stiff...I have been hobbling around, at first I wondered what in the world was wrong, I have actually been letting up on the intensity of exercise a bit, due to fatigue...I could not figure out what I had done...now I remeber.....walking with the kiddo.

                Re: STAC and working out

Yes, exercise is definitely the best route. For your health and your weight loss. The first time around we did lots of walking - several miles per day. Sometimes just around our neighborhood. Other times in nature parks.

This time around I have struggled to re-incorporate it, but will do so - even if gradually. I will do the treadmill or the Walk Away the Pounds videos. I highly recommend these videos if you are just starting out.

                Best of luck!!
