  • Unique Sensation

Some of you newbies are unaware that I have encouraged my overweight, 15 yr old daughter to join me here on Atkins. We are both on day 41 of dieting and exercise and water intake!!!whew.
Well, this week I have stalled all week and bounced between 2 pounds. My daughter just finisehd week one. She lost 3 lbs right off the bat and then nothing for the last few days and even went up a lb...She was terribly discouraged yesterday and friday i was very discouraged...
this morning I got her up to get going and ready for church and she went in to weigh, and was down 5.5 lbs...
Here is the unique sensation, I received immense happiness about her sucess and weightloss..and all day long, it's as tho I lost those pounds, I was walked a little straighter, held my head up a bit higher, and just been rejoicing, and it was her weight loss, but you would thing, it was mine...the euphoria you feel when you have a whoosie, well we both have it... very unique...i suspect it's a momma thing...not sure the wives here will celebrate the faster weight loss their mates will have... My kid will quickly eclips this premenopausal momma...

              Re: Unique Sensation

That is great! Yep..I would say it is definately a Momma thing!! Keep up the great work and remember that both your bodies are different and will both react to Atkins different. And be prepared that you both won't always lose every week. Sometimes our bodies pause to adjust. The next week you may lose 2 instead. If you are following the plan then it will come off as it is meant too. So don't get discouraged by the slow times and do celebrate the whoosie times!! Weigh to go to both of you!

Hey, I'm a single male, and I think even I can understand that sensation. It's often more satisfying to be happy for a loved one than even for oneself.

                Good for you -- both!
