How long did induction flu last for everyone? What day in did you finally start feeling better? I'm not sure if its induction, or any one random thing that might be causing it, today is day 8 for me, and day 5 of a constant headache.
I feel like it gets worse when i'm drinking water too. Its really the only symptom I've had other than being generally more tired in the mornings on and off, and i'm losing weight and eating well, so I can't complain too much, but i'm still waiting for a day where I will wake up without the headache.

I don't know you very well, but are you eating enough? Sometimes it can last a week or so, and mine started almost at the end of the first week of induction, almost thought I'd gotten away without it til it hit. You can be headachy, but make sure you're getting in enough veggies, and eating enough too, make sure you're spreading your meals out during the day enough. Drinking a lot of water should help it go away faster too, flushing out the bad stuff as fast as you can helps your body adjust better. Just hang in there. If you have induction flu that lasts longer than a week or so, or gets worse after a week, and you know you're eating enough and not feeling weak or anything also, I'd check with your doctor, you might have some sort of little infection or something going on. Be careful. Everyone gets induction flu, and it can last varying amounts of time, but trust your instincts. A headache is okay, but you know your body better than anyone. I ignored it for too long the first time I got it and it turns out I had a sinus infection!

      Re: Flu headaches

Yesterday was the first day that I didn't think i'd eaten as much as I should have, but it was also the first day that I noticed a real change in my appitite. Even though I didn't feel hungry I still ate 3 meals a day and still had veggies with every meal.
I note what I eat every day in my journal. For a usual day here's what I have
      Breakfast-
      2 fried eggs
      turkey sausage
      1 packet of mayo

      Lunch:
Chicken breast or hamburger patty w/ cheese
salad (lettuce, onion, cheese, tomato, cucumber, etc.Varies slightly each day)
garlic oil or mayo w/ salad

      Dinner
chicken breast either grilled or cooked in olive oil coated in parmesan cheese
a side veggie like brussel sprouts or broccoli

I normally don't feel the need to snack, but I'll have a string cheese stick or a hardboiled egg once in a while. I also will have an 8oz cup of caffeine free peppermint tea with cream some days in the evening or on the weekend.

AS far as infections go, hmm.. I don't really feel sick. But its funny you bring that up because i'm on Prednisone for a pinched nerve I had. I have an EMG this friday, but Prednisone lowers your immune system, so that might actually be valid. EW I hope im not getting sick...

MAN I was spoiled last time. When I last did atkins and lost 30 lbs, I had no induction flu smptoms to speak of. I was wondering if it was the beginning of a migraine, because it feels like the sort of headache I get before I migraine hits, but its been at that low-grade state for going on a week! GRRRR Maybe i'll play arund with different foods to see if something different helps

Very good idea, with your body being a bit more sensitive this time round, could be something you're eating that you just never realized effected you!

              Re: Flu headaches

I have never had the Induction flu or headaches on Atkins. You could try drinking warm water to see if that helps, or cut back a little to make sure your not depleting potassium or other things.

Whatever is causing it, I hope you find the culprit and they go away soon!

I had the low grade headache for 5 days...Woke with it, and it stayed til day 6. I added extra potassium because of adding so much water to my body then flushing it out.
Your head ache sounds like mine did. I still deal with fatigue often, but no more headaches..

I need to go get a vitamin. I have normal womens one a day, but it has iron in it, so I haven't been taking it. I think the warm water idea sounds good, I always drink ice cold water in the morning and it seems like it makes it worse, like a brain freeze lol
