Re: Do you have temptations at work?

People are always dropping little packets of crackers and cookies off on my desk for snacks. They're being friendly, and I don't have the proper language skills to explain that I can't eat them. And...I don't want to insult anyone. I just keep them in my desk, in case there's a giant earthquake or something. Japanese snacks aren't so tempting for me.

For me, the REAL temptation is the coffee machine that is rigth beside my desk. I'm one button push away from lovely iced coffee. Or hot coffee in the winter. Left to my own devices...I can have about 8 cups a day! sigh. *must resist*

I always seem to work at places that celebrate everything with food. Birthdays, Holidays, Visitors, Met our Goals, Kick off a new Month, Quarter, Year, you name it there is always food around. My best bet if I know it is going to be a food fest ahead of time is to bring legal comparable foods for me to eat. Or eat only the foods that are atkins friendly and suppliment with things I bring. I remember one holiday when i worked at the airport making my own sugar free cheesecake and bringing a peice so I didn't feel deprived of desert.
