  • Thursday - getting closer to the weekend!

It's Thursday morning. How is everyone doing? Normally I am raring to go in the mornings. But this past week I didn't want to get out of the bed. Strange.

Emotions are a bit wacky as husband has quit his job of 14 years to start a new one on Monday. While I"m excited for him and happy he is leaving a job which he no longer enjoyed, I cannot help but be anxious. I never do well with change. I like routine. I will do my best to not let the emotions take control. Thank goodness the chocolate cake is finally gone. Everytime I went into the kitchen I could smell that bakery cake. GRR. Sometimes I would just inhale deeply and the smell was enough to send me running for water. That too sugary smell didn't give me the same joy it once did. But you know, thinking the taste would somehow give me pleasure was a hard one to fight LOL Glad it's gone.

Time to plan my day. I think hubby is cooking this morning MMMM

Re: Thursday - getting closer to the weekend!

Oh Rachel, OUR HONEYMOON is gone...Real life and it's anxieties and stress factors again come knocking at our doors. I can so relate. Things in my home has some tenseness to them too, and I feel that old mountain come into view, the one we seem to always go around...because my honeymoon is over, I don't quite take my stuff in stride...

Isn't it good we have routines in place now, and we can run to them, and cling to their structure. It's not like that first couple of weeks where Atkins was a thin thread we were hanging by...Now it's becoming a way of life, a strong dependable routine I can cling to, and do with my eyes shut, I can do it when I am unhappy with things. I can get my water in and my exercise accomplisehd no matter what the scales say today. I can stay on course regardless if my comments are understood or not...
I AM strong, it's days and times like this that we can actually see this...
I am so glad I have stuck it out.
I can relate friend, our honeymoon is past, real life dances in our lives...

      Hi Rachel,

I agree about routine. We are in the process of selling our house and packing to move to another city/new house... and I just found out my company will not let me stay with them ( I am a home agent)... So there went any routine I had
The good thing is this WOE is something we can control and can be the one constant, when everything else is changing! Hang in there and congrats for not giving into the cake- BAD CAKE!!!

I am not friendly to change either. It really can be a scary thing, all you can do is hope for the best or look for the good in all of it.
I've been doing well w/ Atkins. I am staying really focused. I have been really having to dig deep to excersise more than 3x a week. I'm comfortable at three times, but need to do more. I'll sometimes do 4-5x one week, and then fight to do 3x the next. I'm benefitting so much from it, but been in a bit of a funk.
        That's how I'm doing!

Re: Thursday - getting closer to the weekend!

          Good morning everyone!

Jess, You are right. Now that I look back to almost a month ago, and although I caused a major set back with a food choice, I've come a long from hanging by that same thin thread.

Rachel, you are strong to be around a chocolate cake. That is wonderful.

stickin2it, Sounds like you will be in control while making some major life changes, now that you have the WOE under control.

Blackdiamonds, you are doing great with your exercise to do it so often and not want to. That's how I am with it. A neighbor guy who rides his bike has lost over 130 pounds. Before my husband and I started back on this WOE and treadmill excercise, we congratulated him and said we wished we liked to excercise like he did. He laughed so hard and said he hated it and hated every minute of it, but he had to do it. So I went with that thinking, that I don't have to like it. It works. LOL He hasn't changed his way of eating one bit though, so we are concerned that even if he sprains an anke and can't exercise his daily 2 hours a day, he's going to gain again.

Well, everything is fine here with me. I'm doing fine on Induction. I feel relaxed today, sort of like the "E-or", the donkey from ''Winnie the Pooh.'' I like the feeling of being in control, having a routine again, and knowing exactly what I am going to be eating for the next 5 days, and beyond. The hardest part for me now is drinking all the water, so I'll get that lined up for today.

Routine is definately important for me. I find if I can stick to a regular eating and excercise routine I do it a lot better. Feeling good today, down another half pound or so. The big weigh-in is tomorrow for the contest here at work. I THINK I've got it but we'll see.

Depends on the scale... the guy that started at 196 lost like 28 pounds, so I just BARELY have him.

Will do. Weigh in unfortunately is at like 11:30am. I argued for 8am but lost. Could have held off on breakfast until after . Realistically, whatever happens happens. This contest just happened to coincide with my decision to lose weight anyway, and if I can make $85 on my way to slimming down all the better

hi folks, today was a good day, despite a minor (okay, major) meltdown last night about the state of my life. I managed to stay away from the carbs and followed that through today. go me! glad to see everyone is doing well!
