  • Mini goal - today

I have had this mini goal for a while. I had a pair of jeans before starting Atkins that I could not get into. Shortly after starting Atkins I could get them on! Everyone commented on how good i looked at my nephews party. Wow, real button and zip jeans!

Today is the day I wear those same jeans with the same people around. This time it is my nieces party.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Ate breakfast, went shopping. Had a good time.

party - of course, everyone watched what I ate. I had the salad bar and chicken wings I did swipe a piece of pizza and at the topping only. It was really nice to concentrate on the party and not be all worried about eating pizza and feeling stuffed and eating cake and cookies and drinks. I ate, visited, enjoyed the party! It was great. Comments were made later that day. My sis only compliments when I initiate it.

AFter the party my sis and her family came here to see our mini house - they haven't seen it since it was completed. We visited for a while and then headed to my moms to see oldest daughter and her date. A few other friends stopped by and I was snapping pictures like crazy. Sent the kids out for homecoming and visited with mom and my friend until 11:30! We had a good time.

Now I'm home waiting on daughter home from the dance. It's been a good day. I'm happy - i reached a mini goal! While shopping, I tried on some jeans in the same size as the ones I had one - different brand - they swam on me Whoo hoo!

Time to set a new goal.

I'm so happy is was a good time for you, Rachele, and felt good in the jeans. Isn't that the way that everyone will watch what you eat. I have had that before too, and I think they secretly want to be on the same plan when they see the results. Still, it can feel strange being watched. LOL

I could be way off here, but I saw two models of mini houses and read the article in the US Today newspaper insert last Sunday. If that's what you now have, I coldn't be happier for you! I always wish you nothing but the best!

              Re: Mini goal - today

Thanks yall! I love the thought of those pants being too big. Mostly because when I started Atkins I could not even get into them. whoo hoo!

Mini- house - we took a portable building and converted it into a house. It is 16 x 30 - that's 480 sq feet LOL The door is in the middle. When you walk in, that's the living room/dining. To the left, in the front corner, is the kitchen. Complete with stove, sink, icebox (fridge) from our old house and my new kitchen cabinets that were in our shed waiting to be put into the house. Luckily we saved them. On the back left corner is the bathroom. We pulled the kids' vanity and our toilet and jacuzzi tub from the house. Above the kitchen and bathroom is a loft. Son sleeps there. It has a ladder going up to it that attaches at the floor and the wall with bolts. He has an outlet on the back wall for his radio and lamp that attaches to the wall. He has his mattress up there and all his "stuff". It's his own space. On the front corner of the right-hand side is our bed room. Back corner on the right-hand side is oldest daughter's room. Her room and the bathroom are about the same size. Enough for a twin bed with a dresser next too it. Her "closet" is at the foot of her bed. She has a door so she has privacy. OUr room has our queen bed, night stand and our "closet" at the foot of the bed. Above us and daughter is youngests' loft. She has the same setup as son. It's really nice and a lot of people are surprised at how roomy it is. Most people think we live in a shop with mattresses on the floor and a toilet stuck somewhere LOLOL It's all paneled and we have window AC/heater. We have hot and cold water and the tv is mounted on the wall with a swivel thingie with the vcr/dvd underneath it. Our dining room table is beneath that. We bought another portable building to use as a wash house. It holds the washer/dryer, hot water heater and upright freezer. While it's not as big as a house.. it's a home. We are all together and happy. The kids can have their space, stretch out and move about. It's roomy when it's hot outside or raining. The mini house sits right next to my patio that came off the back of my house. So we have like a cement front porch now I have two trees growing in the patio with holes cut out for them to grow. I didn't want to lose my trees when we did the patio so we did it that way. We have a fire pit out there and bbq pit and chairs. It's an extension of the mini house when we have company. we have a loveseat and the kitchen chairs and some of those folding camping chairs. Company never has to stand when they come. It's really nice. It has paneling on all the walls.. I even hung a few pictures I'll have to get pictures. IT's kinda hard to explain and even the pictures don't do it justice. You'd really have to see it The kids call it our Cabin

I hadn't heard of the mini-houses before so I'd love to see your pictures when you get time.

Funny, you hit your mini-gaol and live in a mini-house.

                  Re: Mini goal - today

AFter the hurricane people were scrambling to find places to live. Many of us got FEMA campers. I dunno how they think 5 people are gonna live in a FEMA camper for 16 months. ACK! While I am grateful - FEMA moved faster than my own insurance company - I was so happy when hubby suggested getting a portable building and converting it. It's like an effiency apt. It's really cute. We all have room and privacy. We have standard appliances and it's ours Makes a difference. Many people did what we did. I went online and looked at floor plans for tiny houses and cabins at campgrounds. Then we designed it. Of course, what you plan is never how it works out. But it came out very well done in the end.
