Someimtes it takes you body a bit of time to become acustomed to your new weight. 11 lbs int 2 weeks is a great start, keep it up and it wont be long until the scale starts moving down again.

I agree, just keep your head down and follow your program, get your water in no matter what the scales say...Get your exercise down, no matter what the scales say and eat clean Atkins, no matter what the scales say, don't allow them to cause you worry, or get you trying to help the program...I think most of us who loose a big chunk, then have to stablize...the trick is to keep the program going and all those points no matter what, the weight will follow... as you body let's it go...it's really the one thing you cannot control...

did you add your new exercise program too like Dr Atkins said to? when you do that your muscles will super hydrate and that can slow scale wweight loss as can the complicated biochem changes going on.

BUT Dr Atkins says to stay off the scales until your 14 days are up and this is why. in your 14 days you have lose almost 4% of you! and since in a previous post you said you wanted to get to 200 you have already lost 13.5% of your total needed to lose weight. You are doing fine exceeding the expected 5-10% loss for 2 weeks into a weight loss plan.

Measure yourself and see how many inches of fat you have shed as you are morphing your body working your Atkins both the eating and the exerfise parts.

The weight loss rate is the quickest during the first 2 weeks during induction. Possibly because the rapid loss is a lot of water weight. It starts to slow down a bit.

There's good advice here about water...it helps your body out with so many things, including burning off your body fat.

Keep a close eye on all the carbs you eat...there could be hidden carbs here and there. For example, with artificial sweeteners. Too much salt intake can make you retain water and possibly stall you. Excessive calorie intake can also stall you-as Dr. Atkins said, doing the Atkins diet is no reason to gorge.

Those are just some ideas, which might help. Good luck, and congrats on the weight loss!

I don't have my book in front of me, so I hate to misquote. I know I have to be very careful with cheese.. the 4 oz a day limit never seem to be enough for me. I know you need 3 cups of veggies.. No more then 3 from one group or 2 from that group and 1 from another group. Like I said, I don't have my book with me so I hate to give wrong information. I'm sure someone near has a link or can point you in the right direction. I tried to go by memory when I started the second time.. yikes! I even highlighted and tabbed the pages this time around to get it down pat

yep where are your veggies? are you using the 2002 DR ATKINS NEW DIET REVOLUTION version of the plan? 3 cups of veggies from the acceptable chapter 11 veggies lists, lots of water, mandatory daily exercise, limiting cheese to 4 ounces a day of aged cheese, AND only eating enough food to satisfy your hunger at the time you are eating even if you got food on the plate, room in your belly, and/or carbs in your budget are the things you should be doing to help you morph your body into the healthier smaller one you want.

remember too Atkins is high fat as in about 65% of your total daily calories hoiwever much they need to be to have satisfied your hunger that day and only 30% of those cals as protein.

The thing is .... I am never hungry ..... I dont recall when the last time I was hungry was ...... Years ago when I was a workaholic .... before I wized up and saw that big business treated all as a number (yes I thought they cared) I would only eat 1 time a day or not eat at all ...... so I did damage to my metabolizm.... thus I believe turning me into type 2 diabetic .... I found out a bout 2 years ago about the diabetes ...... but I can honesly say I cant remember in the last 5 years when I was hungry last ..... even not eating all day .....

Vigges ..... at dinner it is most of the time broccoli

                        Re: 10 days and going

Eating is a habit for me. The clock says noon - time for lunch. I am lucky enough to work at home and can eat when my body says so. I think that is a big problem with many people - eating because they have to at a specific time or skipping meals and then starving later on. Our poor bodies.

Broccoli is good.. but it has to be measured and you have to eat other things.. like lettuce, or celery or peppers.. I think there is another veggie in that group. Drawing a blank right now. Cukes? ya gotta have 2-3 cups from those alone... daily. If you have 2 cups only, then you get to pick from the 1 cup list Mix and match. Goranimals

It may just be easier to look at the lists in the book. I made a copy of it and stuck it on the fridge so I didn't have to keep referring to my book.

                          Re: 10 days and going

being a type 2 diabetic you should know about eatting too much protein and it being turned to sugar in your body which jacks up your blood sugar levels. do you monitor your blood sugar severasl times a day? are you on any diabetic medications?

so if you are not hungry why are you eatting so much?
Dr Atkins says to only have a small protein/fat snack with some of your carbs ( that would be veggies buring induction) when you are not hungry if it has been 6 hrs since your last meal. your body will signal you when it needs more food or your watch will tell you it has been 6 hrs and time for another snack. getting in touch with your hunger is what the early phases of Atkins are all about. try eating 1/2 the amount of food you got listed for breakfast with some of your vegies and see if you feel hungry afterwards. if not then you have had enough food and can go till hunger or 6 hrs hits and again if you were hungry have 1/2 that amount and some of your veggies. if not have a small snack and see. remeber too hunger can be expresses in the body in many ways tummy growling isn't the only sign, Weakness ,Shakiness, Anxiousness, and Difficulty Concentrating are other symptoms. watch for them and feed your body accordingly.

if I only eat when I am hungry though I will seriously be eating maybe 1 time a day .... This will make my body go into starvation mode and kill my already slow metabolism which I need to speed up by eating more often throughout the day spaced apart .

I also monitor my blood sugars and it is never over 120. all my A1C tests have been 6.4 or lower for almost 1.5 years and yes I am on avandia. The ADA states the a protien and fiber rich diet is ideal. I was wondering where you get your information from on protien is bad for diabetics?

My dad is borderline diabetic and he gets funky feeling if he doesn't eat small meals throughout the day. This keeps his blood sugars level and he doesn't hae spikes and drops. He takes medications too. He also has a diet that limits the amount of proteins.. like 4 oz at a meal or something like that.

I did a search on Google for "diabetics and too much protein". Lots of information there. Also, in DANDR it talks about having too much protein and it turning into sugar. I'm surprised you don't have to follow a diabetic diet.

I think 2Big is saying that you need to eat smaller amounts at each meal so that you DO get hungry. Retrain your body and mind. Not eating one huge meal a day. Eat several smaller ones. One egg and one sausage for breakfast? Or one egg and some peppers/onions in there to bring carbs in at every meal. Then by lunch you SHOULD be hungry. She's suggesting you scale down your current meals some to enable your body to get hungry. Spreading carbs, fats and proteins thoughout the day stops those spikes and drops in blood sugars.

Amazing all the things I have learned this time around.
