ok...Ready to give Atkins one more try...
Set a start date of Monday October 9th...
Go to Onederland and stay there ...

Started two years ago at 245.5pounds, lost 65pounds, gained back 41pounds, started again weighing 221.5, got down to 206, gained back 8.5, so here I am...thankful that I have at least kept some sort of dignity in the process by not exceeding 221.5...Now, at an unhealthy 214.5, I am ready to give it another try...my only regret is that each time I fail I avoid the bulletin board like the plague...No more kicking my own ***, I am going to win this battle once and for all !!!
    Onederland here I come...

    We're cheering for you!!

The secret...just don't leave the boards!! Let us help you in your fight. Start a journal (if you don't have one), read and post. If you hit a snag, post or PM someone for help. Make this such a habit that it becomes part of your life and it would be an effort to go off the program.

You can do it! We're here to help!

thanx every-one...yes, I am a planner, for the next 4 days, I will work on my water and walking to get myself feeling motivated, Sunday is grocery day...and if I don't have the right foods, I'll blow it with what I'll call a valid excuse...so...starting Monday I'll have the proper foods available, and a 2 week food plan written and ready for use...I know it sounds crazy, but I will spend the next 4 days pumping myself up for success, ridding myself of excuses, and preparing for a 14 day strict induction...I'll surely keep you posted...thanx again for the support...

Woah, you sound HIGHLY organized and motivated...
When I started, I had my 15 yr old staring at me, weighing in at 170 and standing 5'3. She was a couch potatoe, just like me and I was sitting right next to her on the couch, and I weighed in at 225. We were going nowhere, and I had been like that for yrs, and there she sat...I had to get up and do it for me, but I HAD to teach my kid how to turn it around...If I were to ask you why, what is the real reason behind your doing this again, I would have to admit that truthful shameful story, that right under my nose, I was allowing my child to learn destruction, and disrespect for her body and that's my real "why"...and Atkins works for me.
              So, what brings you here...

                      Re: ready, set, go...

Oohoo. Notthin, I can so relate. I tend to do and do for everyone else, putting myself low on the list.

I did sorta like you... planned ahead. I started the water and food part first.. got that down pat and then added in the exercise. mentally, I was unable to do all three at the same time. Now I'm incorporating exercise into my life - I'm thinking this way it will stick long term.

You can do it! Sounds like you are on your way!

                        Re: ready, set, go...

I think it is important to touch, as you just have on the reason why you are back...and I think it is important to know why you quit last time.
I quit last time because I got bored. I over did it, all the time, and I had no balance, did not follow the book well, never found this place, and i burned out..So, I especially focus on changing things around often. I am over prepared! But, when I sense boredom, I make a change, so there is not a rut...When I get tired of it all, in the past that is an indicator to quitting being the next stop...now, it's a sign of over doing, and again, i shift exercise around. I have a wonderful daughter, and she is following in my footsteps...she is on atkins too. We are walking out of this place together. That keeps me honest and true, and always working with our true north!
Thanks for answering the deeper question, it will be far more motivating if you are working and doing for you, and not a distant party or trip or for people...
Look forward to seeing you on the boards today.

                          Re: ready, set, go...

RachelinLA...way to go on the 22 pound loss...I truely believe exercise is the key...Also, if we can find time in the day to take care of our loved ones, we can surely find time to take care of ourselves...to be honest, I look forward to the day my 9 year old doesn't have to say "Mom should you be eating that?" or "You're not supposed to have chocolate on your diet mom!" (LOL)...so here's to us, keep up the good work...
OUTBACKJESS...I never follow the book...I'm not sure I could...maybe that's my problem...I can't stand vinagerette dressing...it's french for me and lots of it...also steak with a whole lot of A1 sauce...also tic tacs and crystal light, all nono's, but I've managed to lose...slower but more content...any tips are always appreciated...honestly, I usually quit to try weight watchers...only lasts a week because I can't portion...aughh...This time it's all about me though...I'm ready to do some shopping! I don't know about you, but my personality does not shine through in sweatpants, baggy tees and sweatshirts...I'm about sick of elastic waist...well, off to work...by the way, I work in a bakery outlet...bread and cake all day long(LOL)!!!!!!!!

Welcome Notthin! Sounds like you are on the right track to be successful at this woe this time around... I know my 3 biggest mistakes I made last time when I quit were:

1- stopped posting here... I think if I had let my fellow ADBBers know what was going on, they could have gotten me back on track much sooner, but I felt like I was letting them down.

2- did not explore any new recipes after about the 1rst 6 months and got bored

3- added things like lc crackers, alcohol, made too many lc desserts- was way too soon for these things

Don't make the same mistakes...not that you will!

And looking forward to getting to know you. This board is wonderful
