  • Starting Over..

Well, thanks to me ignoring my health, I have to start from scratch again I had a spinal cord flare up, thanks to MS, and was in the hospital, stuck to IV steroids with an appetite for everything.. Add in the depression and PMS (Yeah, i know, this is a bit TMI) I said to *heck* with it.. I know Atkins works for me and I will jump back on once this issue clears.. So, I'm restarting Monday.. In a way, I'm glad this happened.. I'm one of those people who gets a thrill from starting over once in awhile.. The good news is this.. I was following Atkins for about 4 months and after they ran all my blood tests at the hospital, they found that I only had low 'good' cholesterol. My triglyceride levels, they say, were awesome and they all knew I was low carbing (They even attempted to form my meals around the diet, which I thought was great!) So, now I have proof from the medical community that my body is capable of handling this diet as well. I just have to buckle down and take care of the MS too which is going to require a shot every day for the rest of my life. After what I was through the past 10 days, it's a very small price I have to pay.. Thanks for letting me whine..

            Re: Starting Over..

So far, so good I only gained 8 pounds during my few weeks of carb laden misery.. Now I totally remember how I NEVER want to feel again.. My clothes still fit but had I not hopped back on the wagon today, they would have shrunk once again.. Today is day 1 of induction for me. Due to my health issues, it was kinda difficult for me to fulfill the mandatory excersize requirements as well, so it's good I'm starting over. Now that everything is clearing up, I can hit the ground running and look forward to continuing my weight loss and overall health goals.
