Jess must be pedaling away! Cruise on!

Where is everyone? Cmon, Cmon! Come check in! Updates are needed.

    How is everyone doing?

Busy busy in my corner of the world. I thought as the kids got older things would slow down. NOT! Lots of running around. Life is good!

Not enough eating yesterday - just was not hungry. That's so odd compared to before Atkins when I MADE time to eat. LOL Feels great!

        Hi Girls,

Glad to see you are both well... I am great! Just finished Induction and lost 15 lbs... WOOHOO... now if all the packing would make way for time to exercise then my numbers for the challenge would not look so bad!!! Oh well, I'll try to get some in today!!! Have a good one!

Hi STACers! This is my first "check-in" in quite a while, but I need to check-in with my STAC buddies before I chicken out. I've had a difficult time lately with thyroid issues. I was diagnosed a while back with Grave's disease (hyperthyroid) and had treatment this summer for that, which has now sent me into hypothyroid. When I started the medicine, I gained a huge amount of weight rather quickly, which now has me floating just below the 300 pound mark . Needless to say, I'm very frustrated. I'm tired all the time and having issues and just upset in general of the weight difficulties. But I'm trying really hard to find the fight in myself to come back kicking and thought the place to start was first with my buddy Jenna and now with my STAC friends. So here I am. I'm looking for some new food ideas today for breakfast (that is always my tough meal of the day - I'm not the biggest fan of eggs, but need something convenient). I also looked over the before and after photos which seems to motivate me. And of course, seeing how well you STACers have done is awesome!!!

            Re: Tuesday check in

Sarah, my heart goes out to you. Medical issues and the stresses of everyday life are hard on a person. Take it one day at a time - even one meal if you have to. heck, I've seen the time I wanted to eat the entire kitchen and I sat down and wrote why I wanted to and why I should not. By the time I got it all out.. I was okay with a legal food. Sometimes you just have to find what works for you. Get back to induction and kick the old blahs out the window. Once you detox, your body may find strength and want to move around. I tackled Atkins when the hurricane had me so out of whack.. I started first with food and water. Later on I added in the exercise. That worked for me. It's been since July 4th for me.. some days are really easy.. some days are hard, really hard.

            YOU ARE WORTH IT!

And we will be here to root you on.

            Best of luck to you!

Thanks Rachel! I re-started (I hate saying that) induction with lunch today. So that is a start. One meal at a time. Dinner should be easy - my plan is grilled chicken and cauliflower or green beans. I have found a couple of recipes on Linda's Low Carb site that may help me through the breakfast difficulties.

                Hi Sarah,

Welcome Back! I understand your thyroid problems... while mine are not as severe, I am on medication... So, I feel for ya sister!

As for breakfast, I never have time to make eggs except on the weekends...so I usually make recipes that will hold in the fridge or the freezer... Here are my favs from Linda's website:

                Chicken and Spinach Parmesan
                Green "Enchilada" Chicken Casserole
                Pot Roast and Veggies
                Parmesan Baked Chicken
                Baked Meatballs
Meatloaf (makes a great patty melt, recipe on her board)

My others are tuna salad, chicken salad, egg salad or deviled aggs but the last 2 won't help you!

Hopefully these will help! I just think outside the box... and most times eat breakfast for dinner and vice versa...just works out better time wise that way!!!

Again welcome back and hope to more about your weight loss journey... because you are worth it and you can do it!!!

                  Re: Tuesday check in

                  Hello!

I used to have Graves Disease, and when I was started on medication, my doctor DID NOT warn me about weight gain--needless to say, I gained 50 lb. in a matter of months because my metabolism came to a screeching halt! So Sarah--more power to you for doing this--I know how hard thyroid problems can affect weight and metabolism!

As for my Tuesday, it's going fine. I had a delicious omelette for breakfast, and a grilled chicken salad for lunch. I only have 2 min left of my lunch "hour" so I'd better get back to work. Have a good day, everybody...and DRINK YOUR WATER! )

                    Re: Tuesday check in

Thanks for sharing Stickin2it! I really appreciate those ideas. I'm not opposed to eggs on occasion. Its eating eggs everyday that slowly causes me to want to drift away and have some terrible carb laden food. So I could totally do egg salad here and there. Some of those other recipes look pretty great too. I am a convenience person so I might have to do what you do and cook ahead on the weekends for the week to come. Anything that you have tried to freeze?

                      Re: Tuesday check in

You're welcome. Egg casseroles work well from Linda's site. I usually eat breakfast around 9 or 10. I'm just not hungry until then and I usually end up having brunch - leftovers or salad with meat in it. I use to fry up bacon and keep it in the fridge to snack on with deviled eggs when I was in a pinch for time. It's cooking the darn bacon and eggs that take forever. The kids gobble up the bacon now LOL Sometimes I do switch my breakfast and suppers around. I have more time to cook at night

I'm very proud of you for jumping right in. I don't like RE start.. heck,.. we REstart every day... just continue on from here! Even if you over do it with cheese.. if it gets you through then that's what's important. Getting in a routine and starting habits is the first step. Once you have that under your belt you can move from there.

                            Sarah,

They all freeze pretty well... the other thing I do is grill some hamburger, freeze them and then pop one out in the am to thaw til breaksfast... quick and easy!!!
I think variety keeps this woe interesting, so I try to incorporate a new recipe every week or other week... that way it is always different!

You can do it!!!! Let me know if you try any of the recipes and what you think...
